I personally do not read a lot of fiction novels. However I am glad I made an exception to my own rules. This book is extremely hard to put down. The tension, suspense and the vast array of characters all come together perfectly to make this a truly excellent novel. Love, hate, honour and pride. This book has it all and much more. It tells of a great Mafia leader and his dream that his family will one day make it in the legitimate world despite inter family rivalry, greed and jelousy. It also has a blossoming romance that does not adversely affect the thrill and tension in this novel. I feel that this novel is probably one of Puzo\'s best works and will hold its own against any other novels wriiten in this genre. A must read for any mafia enthusiasts or anybody who likes a good thriller. It is easy to read and isn\'t over complicated. This book seems to tease the reader with interesting twists that keep you turning the pages from start to finish. The gripping plot lines and Puzo\'s style of writing make this an unforgettable tale.
