Advantages graphics/artwork/particle effects, classic Zelda gameplay, fantastic new gameplay elements

Disadvantages short game, dungeons are a little easy, simplistic combat, small gameworld compared to other Zelda titles

Aaaahhh....Princess Zelda. When will you stop getting into so much trouble? In Link's final original GBA adventure, Vaati, some evil sorcerer, has turned Zelda to stone and its up to you, Link, to turn her back to her old self and save Hyrule. Collect weapons and magic items, gain hearts, save Hyrule. Sounds very familiar. Link returns to his top down perspective and he's joined by a duck/hat thingy that can shrink Link so that he can explore the world from the perspective of a Minish, a tiny race that aids Link in his quest. This unique ability is actually quite interesting as there are so many different areas you can explore while you're shrunk.
The gameplay is classic Zelda going back to its roots on the NES. Combat is pretty simplistic but boss fights are still as challenging as ever. The artwork on this game is fantastic as it is one of the best looking GBA games I have ever seen. The art is influenced by Wind Waker obviously but it works out extremely well for this title.
Again classic weapons such as the boomerang and bow and arrow rejoin Link and are accompanied by a couple other weapons such as the gust jar which allows you to suck stuff up and shoot stuff back out. Again the dungeons in Minish Cap are superb but can be a tad easy. The main quest is quite short. I must have finished it in under 12 hours.
This is Link's final hoorah on the GBA and even though the game is short, it shouldn't be missed. I didn't buy this game until 2 years after it was released and, man, it was hard to find. If you find this game at a local store, get it, play it, and say goodbye to the classic gameplay this franchise built its reputation upon.
