Advantages: Femilar settings for going on Tolkien`s trilogy Disadvantages: Easy reading
...From origin Tolkien created The Hobbit as an Children`s Tale.
But as he was wrinting The Silmarillion al his live.
It is a perfect start to enter the world of Middle Earth.
Some are femilar with Lord of the Rings.
But to exactly grasp any idea of the immens world Tolkien created.
You have to start with The Hobbit.
For some the books are to heavy reading.
There for this audiobook is excellent suited for children`s and adults.
With a full cast and dwelling music as wel sound effects.
It is a children`s tale but quite scaring at drammatic moments.
The actors have set down the world of Arda in such an manor that really hold your interest.
Here is where you find out how Bilbo Baggins aqcuires The One Ring.
This hearplay is recommended to all who wish to understand MIDDLE EARTH....

The LOTR audiobooks Review ofThe Lord Of The Rings: BBC Radio 4 Dramatisation (Audio Book) - J.R.R. Tolkienby
Elven_Princess
Advantages: you dont have to try and read all those long Middle-Earth words and names! Disadvantages: takes a little while to get used to the voices!
...the audiobooks are a fantastic idea for those who are partially sighted, or cannot read easily for whatever reason-which could be a good thing with all those unpronouncable words inside!
the cassettes and/or cds allow us to enter or re-enter the magical world or Frodo and the Fellowship on their quest to destroy the One Ring-which of course was a big hit on the big screen, winning what, over 25 awards in total between the three movie instalments??
these are perfect for anyone-old or young!
what adds to the fantastic storytelling of the author long dead, are the vocal skils of the narrator, who employs fabulous voices for the characters!!
give it a go- its a long haul to listen to, especially all in one go, but well worth it!...

...The Hobbit is a great book, beaten only by the sequel 'The Lord of the Rings'.
It tells the story of Bilbo Baggins, a hobbit who is convinced by a group of Dwarves to go on a mission to rob a dragon of its gold. They set off on an adventure across the land to reach the dragons lair, and what an adventure they had. Along the way the scene is set for the epic that is the Lord of The Rings, but don't get me wrong, this book is great on its own.
J.R.R. Tolkien was a genius, his books in my opinion were the best ever written, and that still holds true today.
The book creates a believable world, where a range of fantastic creatures live. What makes the book great though is the style in which it is written, and the great adventures the party get up to on the way.
A must read, followd by the Lord of the Rings....
