Farmer Giles of Ham by J.R.R.Tolkien

Advantages: Magical Story
Disadvantages: None

This is a review of the book only. This book is published by HarperCollins and is 144 pages long. "Its imaginative atmosphere and magic are best captured when it is read aloud, when it will live with all the force of 'a tale that holdeth children from play and old men from the chimney corner". ~About The Author~ I don't always do an "about the author" in my reviews but I have admired and been fascinated by J.R.R.TOLKEIN's work since first reading the hobbit at ten years old. This fascination has stayed with me into adulthood and as far as I know I have all or almost all of his work. Although Tolkien is best known for The Hobbit, The Lord Of The Rings trilogy and the Silmarillion, he has also written lots of other fantastic children's books: Leaf by Niggle:Which recount's the strange adventures of the painter, Niggle ...

The Lord of the Rings box set

Advantages: They are exciting and fun to read.
Disadvantages: They are quite long meaning you may get bored along the way.

This is a brilliant three book box set for all ages and minds that like a good adventure. They are all action packed with some interesting features that most people would love to read. With a lot of characters there are so many different problems to be solved going on throughout the three fantastic books. You may think that it is too long for you but I'm sure that the time readng it will just fly by as you are captured in an amazing fantasy of the Lord of the Rings collection. If you have never read one or anything similar it's definitely time to start as you just won't want to part with any of them. I give these books full marks for sure. ...

Review of The Lord of the Rings (3 Book Box set) - J. R. R. Tolkien

Lord Of The Rings the first, book one

Advantages: once you get the boring stuff out of the way, the book is good
Disadvantages: too much description

I am going to talk about the very first lord of the rings book, The fellowship of the ring part one. This book, has a great deal of adventure in, and doesn't lack in description. If anyone has read this book, im sure they would agree that this book may have a bit tooo much description in. Description is good, but when you get too explaining every blade of grass to the last detail you may get bored. Even though i wanted to quit reading it so bad, i kept going because i know it does get better. You go on this wonderful adventure with Frodo Baggins from Bag end. Along with Sam, his loyful companion. You meet loads of interesting characters on the way including, Tom who is like the god of all land, sea and sky in the area were he lives. And tom one day stumbles across the poor hobbits in a spot of bother and helps them out. You ...
