    I was looking through the books in my local Tesco, and I came across a hard-back book called “The Lost Girl”, on the front cover is a picture of the author, Caroline Roberts, and a short passage saying “How I triumphed over life at the mercy of Fred and Rose West”. I love true stories, and have read all of Dave Pelzer books, so I thought at £9.77, I might as well buy it.     This is the story of a woman who used to be a nanny for Fred and Rose West. She was unaware of their behaviour even when she was living with them, but as soon as something went wrong, she ran a mile. Caroline didn't have a normal life. She was born to a woman who wasn't married and her father didn't want to know after a few years as he was a devout Catholic. Soon her mother remarried to a man named Alf who she argued with and did a typical "step daughter" behaviour. She goes onto say how at the age of 12 she was sexually aussaulted by an old man.
