Gertrude’s only input in the conversation is answering questions and attempting to understand her sons berating. Gertrude has no control over the contents of the conversation making her appear powerless. To a modern audience Hamlets treatment of his mother would cause shock because of the lack of respect and how he controls her. It would be seen as degrading towards women as we now speak on an equal intellectual level as men, it would be seen as a form of sexist abuse and unjustified anger. To an Elizabethan audience the play would have been a portrayal of everyday life, in the way that the women were treated... Read review

Advantages: Cooking with confidence.
Disadvantages: Sure to pile on the pounds.

...Sometimes ,when I have a little time to myself I will sit and watch a cookery programme on the television, but rarely am I inspired to rush off to the kitchen and begin experimenting myself. There is however an exception to every rule. Rick Stein has a way of tempting tastebuds that is unequaled. Just hearing him describe the food he is cooking is guaranteed to make my mouth water.....and yeah...I liked it so much I bought the book Rick Steins food heroes .......................................... 'There is a new buzz word in assessing the quality of food:tracability.This is the information that should come with all food, such as who caught it, raised it or grew it;where, how and when.I wish I didnt need such assurance.' Advantages: Well written, interesting format, good narratives

...was more at work in the Roman Church, with Vatican II, than in the Protestant denominations that derived from the sixteenth century splits. However, the Holy Spirit continues to move and shape and find being in all expressions of Christianity, and all continue to strive toward God with thanksgiving. Stein provides at the end of each chapter a series of conversation and study questions, making this book useful for private devotion and practical for group and class work. A worthy book....
