This is no ordinary book. In fact to call it work of fiction would be as wrong as mugging a nun. It is not a dictionary either, you can call it a dictionary in the way you can call a tomato a fruit, but deep, deep down you still have that gnawing feeling that its a vegetable. No, the meaning of liff is not a book or a dictionary or a thesaurus. It is, most surely, a jolly good read at any time of the day. What Adam's has done is simply genius. Taking street names from all over the UK he has assigned to them everyday experiences that there are no words for. Just reading one or two of these little definitions will have you rolling on the floor or thinking to yourself "that has happened to me before". This is an investment in your own sense of humor.
