The Neverending Story was one the first books I ever read when I was a child. Its very well written, the author is very imaginative and its easy to get lost in the story. Also great how the author manages to involve the reader in the story through his writing. I also like the way he addresses problems in the real world through the fantasy realm. Favorite characters are Atreju and the lucky dragon. The Film based on the book was very well made and the characters were well kept to the book. It was great seeing them in real after reading about them, although the book has nice illustrations.Shame though that the sequels left much to be desired after seeing the original.
I think a little bit more info would have been better, but I have to say, I agree! I got lost in this book many-a-time when I was younger. And I enjoyed the first film (although it was no where near as good as the book), but yeah - the sequels were completely rubbish! x

I’m afraid you did not explain anything about the book or its content. The story is not as easy as it looks and you should have tried to summarise some of the story without giving too much away. The book is incredibly long and should never be compared to the unfortunate movies that were made. Michael Ende the author was angered by the way the movie was made and removed his name from it, apparently never agreed with the sequels either. Writing just a few lines about such a different and almost difficult book is sadly not helpful for people looking for information on whether to read it for themselves or give as a present.
