Carole Matthews is one of my favourite authors. Since reading a couple of her books; A compromising position, and A whiff of scandal, I have really got into her writing. This is the most recent of all her books which I have read and I am looking forward to reading many more. Di Maggios is a Glasgow based chain of mid market, mid priced restaurants. The restaurant I have visited was in the West End of Glasgow, Just off Byres Road on Ruthven Lane. It is not very well signposted from the road and on your first visit you feel that you are going round the back of someones house to get there, down cobbled lanes. I wouldn't advise single females to venture on their own or with your best stilletoes either.
The restaurant was busy on a Friday night at about 8pm and the crowd was a real mixture, some couples, girls nights out, leaving parties etc. The room is very dark and lit with candles, to be honest I did not notice any other decoration as it was dark but the tables were very close together.

If you do not know the story of Charles Dickens' A Christmas Carol there is probably something wrong with your think tank. It's possibly one of the most re-told stories of all time and probably has more film-isations than any other book, possibly even trumping the bible. This is Walt Disney's third re-telling alone for God?s sake.
