The Nursing Times is one of the oldest nursing magazines in the world, first published in 1906. For a reasonable price readers are treated to updates for their clinical skills, in-depth investigations and insightful opinions. They also have the opportunity to activate their subscription online to take advantage of some of the expansive learning opportunities at the Nursing Times website (www.nursingtimes.net). While it is true that a large number of people may be overwhelmed by the constant stream of magazines coming through their door the online elements certainly make the subscription worthwhile. There is also the addition of the Student Nursing Times (www.studentnursingtimes.net) which is an online magazine which aims to help student nurses by providing specialist articles and opinion pieces. There are also free to access web chats with industry professionals and pioneers. In conclusion, the Nursing Times isn't owned or supported by any external organisation so relies entirely on its subscribers. This gives it a keen advantage in my opinion in that it works hard to create the most appealing and relevant content for its readers. It is certainly worth the modest price alone for its ever-increasing online learning library.
