Synopsis:
Wizard Matthew Mantrell is rather frustrated. Yes he has been appointed High Wizard by the restored Queen Alisande. Yes he loves her and she loves him, but she will not marry him. The problem is that he is a commoner and royalty cannot marry for love but for the good of the kingdom.

That is not a good idea. His lady love immediately has him clapped in the dungeon with a gag in his mouth so that he can not say any spells. Whilst chained up in the dungeon, Matt learns that just thinking and sub vocalising a spell gets him out of the dungeon and into the next Kingdom.
