Advantages: Good Experience Disadvantages: Often Dangerous, Underpaid for half the work !
The BritishArmy provides a real way out for many people, it gives morales and standards to many young people, who otherwise wouldnt have a chance of survival in their home environment.
As an employer, it often neglects its duty of care, and the work environments can be exceptionally challenging, the day to day life often crosses the thin line of ridiculousness, and again, as an employer, the Ministry of Defence fails to protect its employees from several areas of harm that should not be found in the Army.
The Recruitment process usually starts in the Recruiting Station, where a potential recruit will make several visits to discuss their options.
After a few tests, they can choose a trade, in which the Army will train them to be proficient in their undertakings. As time continues the Soldier will gain valuable experience in his ...

Advantages: see the world, meet people from different walks of life Disadvantages: low pay, away from family lots
the army they can buy themselves out. Which is totally unture. Every one has to do 3 year colour service to the queen. When you join before you are 18 you have a point of no return. After 2 months you have to sign to say that you are staying in the army and once you have signed the dotted line thats you for 3 years. But saying that in my opinion if you want to join the army you should go for the jouners. ie. before you turn 18. Because once you are 18 you only get 19 weeks training. Join before your 18 and you can have up to 18 months training and believe me the training is great.
training- As i joined before i was 18 i was sent to Newcastle for 6 months training. I loved it. You worked 5 and a hlaf days a week but you are so busy the days and weeks fly past. Every day you do some kind of fitness, mostly running as you need to build up your ...

Advantages: Lots of holiday, Travel, sport, qualifications, mates Disadvantages: underpaid, often dangerous, away fromhome alot, very hard work
i have currently been in the army for 2 years now and i have come to believe that its up to the person to decide whether they like it or not. If you like travel, hard work, good mates etc then join up! But if you dont enjoy leaving your family, want proper money for your hard work, dont mind living in not so clean accomaodation then i recommend you dont. You dont have the oppertunity to "try it", once your in there is no way out until the 4 year point.
My personal opinion is i dont really like it as a career job, im aiming to do just the minimun, 4 years, to gain some experience and travel a bit. Its goodfalls. to gain qualifications and trades etc for when you do leave, and its true there are loads of benifits AND downfalls. Im not going to go into these as like i say im not putting people off and it all depends what type of person ...
