*HELLO?!? I'M IN THE ORANGE SHOP*

Advantages: Great customer service, cool layout
Disadvantages: Trainees *shudders*

...Orange only started up in the UK as a small business in 1994. The idea was simple, to help people communicate all over the world at affordable prices.
The company obviously hit the spot as it soon became the fastest growing mobile network until March 2001. The best thing about Orange is that as they have become bigger, they have been offering more and more things for the customers instead of grabbing more money. Well obviously they are making ...
...over 12 million customers in the UK alone and 30 million customers worldwide. One of the reasons they may be doing so well is because of their outstanding customer service. It has just been ranked number 1 telephone service for customer satisfaction for the fourth year running.

I've been 'in the market' for a new mobile phone ever since, well, I read down the list of specifications on the Nokia N95; compared it against my trusty Nokia 2650 flip-phone and... Yeah, it was like comparing a Swiss Army Knife with a teaspoon. This was about three months ago and far from the craving fading with time, distance and the whole 'unlocked handsets cost twice as much as the average desktop PC' business - my condition worsened. Until, ...
...everything, in my opinion, that the N95 had and I wanted - just without the 3G, GPS extensions and 5mpx camera - an LG Shine. This was a good start. I'd done my homework; clarified all of the elements that made me both disappointed in my old handset and greening around the gills with jealousy over the N95; made myself a checklist of 'wants' (expandable memory, Bluetooth, media capable - video, image, mp3 tone); things I was prepared to compromise ...

The future maybe bright....sometimes

Advantages: One in every town
Disadvantages: Well...

I recently purchased one of the Sony Walkman phones the W300i on Orange as it was such a good deal and came with mini speakers worth £30. The phone itself retails for £89.99 and you have to add £10 airtime when you buy. Now before I purchased this phone, I bought, by mistake, a Motorola (which I had for a day) and started the process of "porting" my number across from another network which I told them in the shop and that I was prepared to pay ...
...keep the SIM for the number porting. This then opened a can of worms! They sold me the W300i and said that I could keep the original SIM and give me another SIM. I then got a phone call from Orange Customer Services saying I had to return to the store because the SIM I originally had had been blocked and everything had to be transferred to the new SIM that I got with the W300i. I went back (fuming, I hasten to add!) whereupon they set about transferring ...

Quick review of The Orange Shop

My experience with Orange is: Customer services are impossible to get through to. You get charged for Delivery reports and do not get told about this. You even get charged £3.50 for paying your bill manually. DD is free. The roaming does not work abroad I had to contact them from a normal phone abroad which cost me 15 euros, I had actually told them before going abroad that I was going abroad but they STILL didnt activate it. I want to leave but cannot afford 12 x £35.00. Daphne ...

orange contract

Advantages: good service
Disadvantages: staff in shop not always aware of all deals provides by orangd

...etc ,as it is in the distant past for me . What i can rave about is orange and how i have been dealt with in these years. Firstly a little known fact NHS employees can get a 10% discount on contract.(YOU HAVE TO ASK) I believe insurance is now £5 a month ...now for some reason i get mine free for the the first year ,every time i upgrade my phone (which i do every year)the staff at orange dont really know why this is but all they can suggest is ...
...Orange In Front (check out the magazine you get sent quarterly for these types of deals) This includes £80 upgrade cost per year , a pound a month international calling, 30 text bundle a month all for £4 a month extra Unfortunately this has now ceased to exist this month but my benefits will go on for free for another 6 months. (the down side of this package was that orange staff had never heard of it so the shop was unwilling to upgrade me ......however ...

THE FUTURE IS BRIGHT.....

Advantages: Good selection of phones
Disadvantages: None that I found

...I had a brainwave! The Orange Shop. I went in my lunch hour yesterday to the Orange Shop just around the corner to the office (Fleet Street, London EC4). Saw that they had one on display and asked the "Phone Trainer" if they had one in stock, "Yes" he replied, "we've got 2 left". I was so happy I bought one. The shop was very busy and the staff very attentive. The gentleman that served me was the Branch Manager. All staff in the shop are "Phone ...
...a registration form to "register" the phone. The gentleman then went on to phone Orange head office to obtain a mobile number assigned to the new phone. I was then handed the phone and asked a number of security questions for my account. Very quick process and very happy knowledgeable staff. After all the regstration was done I proceeded to the till where, as its coming up to Xmas, presented, along with the phone, a Xmas box containing a "Christmas ...

A change for better!

Advantages: very good customer service
Disadvantages: none

I have just switched my phone provider to Orange. There was no problem with transferring my previous phone number and whole operation went smoothly. There was a slight confusion with my home address but nice and friendly customer service served as an assistance. When I had some doubts about my bill, a copy of one was sent to me straight away. Customer service at Orange shops are always high quality and i never feel ignored comparing to some other shops, which are simply far too busy. I have not regretted joining Orange even for a while! They always provide excellent customer service and never fail to meet customers expectations. I would definately reccomend it to everyone who is not happy with his present network provider. There is always time for a change! ...

Good tariffs but poor coverage.

Advantages: Nice and cheap
Disadvantages: poor coverage

and save my BT phone bill. Wrong. The coverage was so bad at home I could not receive any either. So bearing in mind what I have told you, check the coverage in the area at an independant shop. Not an Orange or Vodaphone shop, an independant shop. They will give you an honest answer. They might not be the cheapest but once you know which tariff to choose, you can shop around. Just a handy tip on buying a new phone. ...

Orange Out here

Advantages: Free stuff!!!
Disadvantages: not a lot

This is one of the best investments you can make. You pay £14.99 at any orange shop and you are given a box. The contents of this box are: * A top up card * A cd rom * A black rucksack * An instructions manual The top up card is just the same as a normal top up card you dial 450 and enter the number, you will be topped up with £5 calling credit straight away and then within 24 hours, you will get 5 free messages a day. This in itself is worth the £9.99. You also get 2, 30 second calls for free once your credit has run out. This is useful in emergencies or just not an emergency!! So i reccomend this to every one who has a PAYT orange mobile. It is easy to set up and has lots of advantages. ...
