My saga of finding a new phone continued yesterday with a brilliant outcome.
I've been looking for a Siemens A55 phone on Orange Pay as You go and every shop in London was sold out. Then I had a brainwave! The Orange Shop.
I went in my lunch hour yesterday to the Orange Shop just around the corner to the office (Fleet Street, London EC4). Saw that they had one on display and asked the "Phone Trainer" if they had one in stock, "Yes" he replied, "we've got 2 left". I was so happy I bought one.
The shop was very busy and the staff very attentive. The gentleman that served me was the Branch Manager. All staff in the shop are
"Phone Trainers". These are the people that "teach" you how to use your new Orange phone if you don't understand it.
On purchasing my phone I had to fill out a registration form to "register" the phone. The gentleman then went on to phone Orange head office to obtain a mobile number assigned to the new phone. I was then handed the phone and asked a number of security questions for my account. Very quick process and very happy knowledgeable staff.
After all the regstration was done I proceeded to the till where, as its coming up to Xmas, presented, along with the phone, a Xmas box containing a "Christmas First Aid Kit" which contains gel eye goggles, lavender oil and ear plugs, another box containing a "Musical Xmas Bouncing Ball", throw it on the floor and it plays numerous Xmas tunes and a third box with a "Photo Snowdome" inside to put your own pictures in as well as an in car telephone holder. This was all presented to me along with the phone in a presentation box and carrier bag.
All in all it was a very speedy service, the shop is well laid out with all phones labelled accordingly. There are two display cabinets in the middle of the shop which double up as "desks". There is a large selection of accessories and good amount of free catalogues detailing all their phones. They stock all the Nokia phones and all the new ones. They also stock the 3G video phones. The full range of phones in their catalogue as they only have a certain amount on display.
Great shop and staff would highly recommend them!

How's this for a disadvantage, they only do Orange phones, who have a limited range compared with other UK networks... Nice review though:) -Jon
