And The Oscar For Best Director Goes To... Kirsty

Advantages: Gorgeous Host, Great Awards Ceremony Awarding Everyone In The Film Industry
Disadvantages: Long

...Oscar for Best Director for the best film ever made goes to Kirsty F... wait; I’m getting a little bit ahead of myself here, that’s not going to happen for a few more years. As most of you know I do dream of doing something within the media industry, whether it’s directing, writing or editing, these awards are for everyone, most of the crew within a film are looked at for their creativity, their passion and most importantly the final footage that ...
...are called The Oscars and this year in my opinion they were very special.

The Oscars are integral part of the media industry, there is a season during January/February where all of the actors, actresses and everyone else in the media industry get dolled up and go to countless awards ceremonies, The Golden Globes and The BAFTA’s to name a few, however it all comes down to one night. All the awards ceremonies before this night are rehearsals ... more

And the award goes to.....

Advantages: Decent year for films, well-judged
Disadvantages: A few shaky calls, but not many

The Oscars 2009: How I felt about this years winners I've tried to include as many awards as possible, but I can't say I've seen any of the documentary films here, and I won't even pretend that I've seen the foreign films. I've therefore left these awards out as my opinion isn't consequential here. == Intro == The Academy Awards, more commonly known as 'Oscars', are generally regarded as the greatest award for anyone in the film industry, and are ...
...film crew members. The prize ceremony was first held on May 16 1929 at a private dinner in Hollywood to an audience of less than 250 people. Since then, the awards have escalated to such an extent that nowadays, at the 81st Academy Awards in Los Angeles, 36.31 million people were watching from all around the world. This sounds a lot, but is in fact the third least watched Oscars ceremony since viewing figures began in 1974, which gives you an idea ...

OSCARS EVERY PERFORMING ARTIST'S DREAM

Advantages: It proved that even low budget movies(like Slumdog)can make it big.
Disadvantages: Focuses on only the main positions of film making other important positions are sidelined.

...I frankly did not expect the movie SLUMDOG MILLIONAIRE BAG 8 OSCARS,though I am happy about it but I am not proud about it.In the beginning Hugh Jackman the host of the evening was pretty much a pleasure to watch. There was a feeling of mutual admiration in the air in KODAK THEATER.Everyone was looking their best, fingers were kept crossed and everyone were in high hopes that their movie or work would be awarded. At the end some hearts were thumping ...
...however was getting monotonous at the end as all I heard or saw was SLUMDOG MILLIONAIRE SLUMDOG MILLIONAIRE AND SLUMDOG MILLIONAIRE. In the Best Film Category Slumdog according to me had to be third on the list which would be topped by Curious Case of Benjamin Button and MILK.But I really was awestruck that it was awarded Best Motion Picture of the Year. The Curious Case had a lot more matter, story and overall structure, the sets were altogether different ...

Kate Winslet captured Oscar glory with inspirational grace

Advantages: Watch a moviestar establish herself in Oscar history.
Disadvantages: This speech will not be beaten in words or meaning.

...opinion Kate Winslet deservedly claimed the best actress Oscar for her role in 'The Reader', and her acceptance speech was as inspiring as her perfomance as the mysterious Hanna Schmitz. She profoundly accepted the award with such sincerity and humbleness that I found myself proud to be of similar roots to this English rose. I was spared the forced gratitude of her american predecessors, where tears were shed for show, and thanks were offered with ...
...to find her father in the crowd, where she found her glory in his proudness. Her words were honest and her elation contained with grace as she fulfilled a life long dream. On screen she appeared picture perfect, divinely epitomizing womanly beauty coupled with moviestar glamour; the smoothly tucked hairstyle echoing the curves and fluidity in her timeless dress. For me, Kate Winslet etched herself into Oscar history with raw greatness. ...

The Oscars - Another Over-Rated Year

Advantages: Hard work honoured.
Disadvantages: All the fuss to the run up, then its forgotten come next year.

...certain film just based on the fact that it has won oscars? - I know that I wouldn't . I'm going to start off with the 'best actress' oscar for Kate Winslett - Personally I think that she got the oscar purely as a sympathy vote, everyone knows what happened in her last winners speech and she was totally humiliated. Every interview she took part in all she talked about was winning an oscar that now means we might finally not have to put up withlistening ...
...to be honest what was the shampoo bottle speech all about? Second of all I will talk about Danny Boyle, I think he deserved all of his oscars - the film was brilliant! I couldn't fault it at all - I think It's a film everyone should go and watch, it's just genuis. Now, the curious case of Benjamin Button - absolutely brilliant, I am Pleased this film won a few awards too, It's really interesting and so original a very different must - see! Last but ...

Glitz and Glam

Advantages: Great outfits and speeches
Disadvantages: Too far for me to attend

I think the Oscars were great this year. I am very happy and satisfied with the winners and believe that they all deserved to win. Kate Winslet was one of my favourites and in my opinion, her speech was straight from the heart; the whole bathroom, shampoo bottle thing...was great. Sean Penn never disappoints and he's very humble. One other thing that makes the Oscars: The outfits...the ladies in particular were looking gorgeous. My all time favourites ...
