A rather slow cook read...

Advantages: tastes good
Disadvantages: dated

I bought myself a slow cooker a few months ago and realised that I had never used it, it just sat in my cupboard waiting for me to find the time to read the instruction booklet and start working out how it was used. Eventually I got it out and decided to buy myself a cook book so as to get the best out of my new appliance. I bought the gina Steer one as it had some good reviews and I liked the way the recipes were laid out, they looked very clear and easy to read and the pictures made the food look very tempting! What is great about the book is that there are about 150 recipes so there is great variation from soups, starters, main meals and even desserts. I wasn't aware that you could make desserts in a slow cooker, I thought it was mainly used for casseroles and soups but no! you can make all sorts! The recipes I've used from ...

Great Machine!

Advantages: Quick Work-Out, Cheaper than Power Plates, Great Results
Disadvantages: Only tones your body, doesnt keep you fit.

This machine is simply a must if you want to tone yourself up and not have the hassle of going to the gym for hours each week! I bought one of these off Ebay, and now so glad i did. Its simply an amazing piece of kit. My Personal Experience At first i thought, surely this machine cant be as good as i've been reading all over the net, people must be exagerating and just trying to sell the machine. How wrong i was.... The first time i used this, i trained at level 10 (ranges from 1-20) thinking i can take it at that level no problem, and sure enough i was ok, i did a few different positions for my legs, stomache and arms. I trained for about 10 minutes, as i wanted to see how much this would actualy do, and sales reports tell me that 10minutes of using this machine is equivelent to 1 hour at the gym. Boy oh boy did i feel it ...

Student Survival - with a Student Cookbook

Advantages: cheap recipe ideas, helpful for beginner cooks, informal style
Disadvantages: no pictures, some recipes are a bit too adventurous

In fairness, the laminate isn't the first thing about The Student Cookbook that you'd notice - the bright orange and sunflower yellow with big white dots filled with words like "comfort", "cheap", "quick", "fast", "mates" arranged in a grid on the cover might be, though. Being quite short (probably 14-15cm square) it's a handy size for keeping in a kitchen corner, in your bedroom or even a cupboard - which has its advantages for students who find themselves with a share of the kitchen that runs to two cupboards, a shelf in the fridge and perhaps a whole freezer drawer if they're lucky. I always kept mine in my room but it would easily have fitted in my cupboard if I'd been able to find space.
