Published by Welsh publisher Carreg Gwalch, it is a tribute to the history of the heroic quarrymen of Wales and their equally heroic families who lived in the smallholdings with their quarrymen folk. These smallholdings were scattered around and about the slate quarries. Mainly they had a field or two that were attached to them, so that they were, as well as being quarrymen, they wee able to work as smallholders, too, growing some of the food that the family needed in order to survive and sometimes to thrive in the ... more
