How does it compare to similar books?

"Rule of Four - no bloodline of Jesus here"

The Rule of Four is another book which fits into the category or genre synonymous with that of The Da Vinci Code.

The major difference is that this book follows a completely different topic, one which is rather unrelated to any religious sects or views. This has left it controversy free and therefore without the same amount of publicity as other similar books such as the Da Vinci Code has received.

The story revolves around a group of university boys and their attempt to unravel a mysterious book from 15th century Italy.

Because of the comparison made to the Da Vince Code on the book's cover we are forever waiting for a plot which yet again implicates a religious conspiracy, however not only does it never come, but I also think my immense satisfaction in the book was mainly based on the many references to life at Princeton.

This book is a definite must for anyone who has enjoyed and continues to enjoy this new mystery/conspiracy linked to classical myths genre of books.
