The Shadow of the Wind is quite literally one of my favourite books! I first bought it about a year ago, and once I started reading it, I could not put it down! The characters and their stories are both complex and mesmirisig, and the book itself has so many layers and twists and turns. The main thing I enjoyed about this book (apart from it being beautifully written and what I have mentioned above) was how the story was so original, unlike one I had ever read before, and the fact that it was set after the war in beautiful Barcelona was also a plus as Zafon depicts the scenery magnificently. Unfortunately I lost my first copy of this book, however I loved it so much I had to go out and buy it again! I definitely reccomend it!
