Through the years, there have been many games based on the Simpsons and then finally, with the latest instalment, aptly named The Simpsons Game, has hit it right on the nail, with many hours of great game play with a unique story away from the series. Being able to play as the entire Simpsons family, you travel through the majority of Springfield, where you'll see all your favourite characters, plus some exclusive to the game.
The aim of the Simpsons game is to save Springfield from videogame purgatory, as you travel through many different style of levels, and be able to meet some notable faces in the gaming world. With its' simplistic game play, wide variety of missions and side-missions for you to do, the Simpsons game is defiantly a game to seek out and play. Don't just play through the game, explore Springfield, like you've never been able to before with its' most precise adaptation to date.
Play as Homer, Bart, Lisa or Marge through levels unique to specific family members and wield unique abilities learned throughout the lengthy story-line of the epic Simpson game, as you smash chocolate bunnies, aliens, dolphins and classic gaming characters. As each character has there own special abilities, it really increases the enjoyment. As Homer, you can turn into a giant blob, and blast your enemies into oblivion with your rush attack. As Bart, your special ability is your slingshot, as you fire stones at your enemies to defeat them at long range. As Lisa, you get to wield the powerful saxophone, where you can use it to stun your foes and make them fight for you for a certain amount of time. As Marge, you wield a Megaphone that allows you to order local Springfieldians to join your mob and fight at your command and also has the added ability of using Maggie to travel through air vents and small areas to acquire key and regular items. When you progress through the game, you will unlock new abilities for your characters, instead of learning them with level ups and all that, this game is just so simple, it is just like the good old days of gaming where everything was just given to you through progression of the story.
While you play through the game, if you perform certain actions, you will unlock 'game clichés' which have a sarcastic comedic whit about them and give you more of an urge to play through the levels more then once to unlock them all. There are also other collectable items spread out throughout Springfield and the many levels you get to play through.
I found the game very enjoyable, with its many quirks, and fun game play that will keep attracting you to return to play more and more, even when completed. It is even more enjoyable with the easy 'drop in' two player system, which allows a friend to join the game at an instant, to really increase the enjoyment of the game. I found the game very addictive, being a big fan of the Simpsons, its' unique story and over forty minutes of exclusive animation for this game, was a wonderful joy to watch and be able to play as one of the worlds favourite families in an actual decent game.
The game is original, unique and stands out from all the other Simpson adaptations. Graphically, for the XBOX 360, the game is good. There's great detail in the levels and Springfield and very smooth graphics in an anime style. The soundtrack is brilliant, very similar to the soundtrack from the series, including the original theme, plus lots more for you to enjoy which really enlightens the game with its' own personal touch. The voices are also great, straight from the TV series, each character is portrayed with the same voices, which is exactly what you want in a game like this.
I never really found the game too difficult, until it got right near the end, where it got crazily difficult when playing on your own, where your health could be taken out in a few shots, but that's what makes it fun, you don't want the game to be just a pushover, you want some entertainment and the thrill of having to think to complete the game to get that much needed satisfaction which most games don't have anymore. The game is probably still top price at £39.99 in most places, but you should be able to find it cheaper if the deal is right, but the game is definatly worth getting, even at this price. So in short, this game is good for anyone, that wants to enjoy a good platform game where you can have a good laugh alone, or with your friends and overall have a good experience.
Advantages: Good plot, Simpsons humor Disadvantages: Camera angles, Only last a play though or two
...I never did have the high hopes for this game in the start having been disappointed by the newsiest Simpsons games that had been released. The Simpson road rage was meant to be their version of crazy taxi and was pretty bad game for it's own reasons. The Simpsons hit and run was much better than that but still was a bad game for it's own reasons but there seems to be some connection with these games since the Simpsons road rage was not very good ... ...not be considered one of the best games of all time. I said about their being a connection well there is it's because the Simpsons games over time are in fact getting better all of the time this new Simpsons game is one of the best Simpsons games so far. I fist played this game as a demo before it was released and the demo was really bad it was based on one of the levels of the game and it kept me entertained for about five minutes then I went to ...

Quick review of The Simpsons Game (Xbox 360)
The simsons game is a game but like tha actual show it really is funny . It would make the most boring people laugh while playing and it is really fun to play . The game is full of jokes while you are playing and it is really easy to use and the graphics like most x box 360 games are fantastic . . The game is really bright and has some good ideas . The game uses other games name and uses them in their own game such as medal of homer god of wharf and grand theft scratchy .
it is easy to swithch between characters . The multiplayer is fantastic instead of split screen they can jumpin immediatly a really good game ...
