A nice one to end it on 3 of 3 Ciao Users found the following review helpful

Advantages Ceilings, alot of new objects, things that "should of been there before" are

Disadvantages no apartment build tools, ugly silly dresssed townies

The sims 2 apartment life does an exelent Job of tying up loose ends for the sims 2, whilst still introducing fresh, exiting gameplay. Farmilliar objects from the sims 1 such as the mirror-cabinet with the "brush teeth" option makes an appearence along with a few other farmilliar bits and bobs. essence from the "makin' magic" expansion for the sims is thrown in with the presence of witches, good and bad in your neighbourhood. Unfortunatly, this is not an aspect of the game that i've made much use of, getting a witch sim is not as straight forward as a trip to magic-town, like in sims 1. It is a longer, more tedious process of making friends with witches, choosing "good or bad" side, and a range of unimaginative witches outfits.
It May just be me getting older, but the magic in the sims 2 just simply wasn't as fun as the "makin magic" expansion for sims 1.

However, despite this, i wouldn't detract many points, To me, the game makes up for the lousy witch craft with something i have been waiting for in all my years of playings the sims. Ceilings. It may not sound like much, but the addition of ceilings really does make the game alot more enjoyable for me, it gives a more "homely" feel and lets you feel more as if you are in your sims home.

The game comes with a wide range of dirrent apartments, Apartments are a great way to get your sim a nice place without blowing your lousy $20 000 budget in one pop, or of cpurse typing "kaching" into the cheat bar. The "townie" sims that automaticly more into your apartment block open the oppertunity of your sim going into a neighbours home rather than then always coming to you, which is definatly a nice touch, And with the build tools, it's easy to fashion an apartment block to look like a street of row houses.

Another new aspect to the game is a the reputation meter, a new way for popularity aspiring sims to set themself challenges.

Apartmentlife unfortunatly came with one real set back. Stupidly, Maxis have not given us an "apartment" zone option when building a new lot. This means that we have to build apartments on a residential Iot, and later turn it into a apartment zone using cheats, and downloading a cheat object for the apartment mail box, and trust me, this can get a little confusing, and if you're on a slow computer, vey tedious.

I'd say this expansions brings the sims full circle to a nice close, a great way to end a great series. My favorite of the expansions and definatly worth it.
