If you've read my reviews before you'll know that Sims can't go wrong in my eyes. Addicted to the expansion packs I just had to have this. It looked like the best to me purely because my Sims were able to go to exotic places. I was surprised by my reaction once loaded.
This was a Christmas present to me last year and my computer was already struggling with the previous expansion packs that were already installed. When installing the programme I didn't have a problem. I was quite excited to get it up and ready to play as I found no difficulty with the other expansions, I was expecting this to be the same.
***The Expansion*** Well it's pretty straight forward. As the name surgests you can now send your Sims on holiday to exotic places. Aswell as just holidays, it also includes a new option of the honeymoon experience which isn't offered in any of the other expansions.
***Destinations*** Like most expansion packs, this one offers 3 new destinations for your Sims to go.
Three Lakes - a mountain woodland Twikkii Island - beach Takemizu Village - far east
Like your normal places, you can create your own destination resort. Each destination has a secret lot ( haven't found any of these through lack of patience) which will only be discovered by your Sims through a secret map.
***Accomodation*** There are pre-designed hotels already placed in the lot or in your lot bin. Your Sim also has the chance to purchase their own private holiday home. I'm pretty impressed with this because it's actually incorporating more and more of real-world luxuries into the game.
To purchase a Vacation home, click on the phone then real estate and Vacation Homes will be a new selection added to the options. Your home can be purchased in any destination you wish. As this is now your personal holiday home, you can decorate however you wish and if you are lucky you may even have your own private beach.
***The Beach*** What would a relaxing holiday be without a beach? The Beaches that are included in the Bon Voyage expansion allow for more Sim interaction. You can now "sunbathe", "get in" to swim in the ocean or "build a sand castle".
***The Woodland*** If you send your Sims to the Woodland they'll be going on a camping trip. Your Sims will have the option of staying in a tent or a wooden lodge. Give them a rustic, old fashioned holiday which is great for families.
***The Far East*** Unlike the other 2 destinations, this holiday will be filled with culture. Taking similarities from countries such as Japan and China, your Sim will learn the customs of the characters at this destination.
***New Building Tools/Buy Mode*** All expansion packs add more options to decorate your Sims home so it's not a surprise that this one does. New wallpaper, roofs and house objects are available reflecting the 3 destinations theme.
***Build a Sim*** New clothes, jewellery and hairstyles are also added when you are creating a new sim.
The new hairstyles are really good, especially one in particular for females. It looks more realistic like you would see someone with it rather than some of the bizzare options found. The jewellery is also an impressive addition. I did wonder how long it would take before jewellery was added. Necklaces, bracelets, rings, watches and piercings can all be added to your Sim. Facial piercings are included.
The additional clothes reflect the 3 destinations themes. It's unlikely you'd pick these for your Sims everyday wear so I don't really know why they are there. An example of some of the additional clothing is a lumberjack outfit and a hula outfit.
***Graphics*** Graphics haven't changed since the Sims 2 was first bought out. This isn't a bad thing because I've always praised their graphics, espeically if you've ever played on The Sims Deluxe Edition.
The graphics on holiday were brilliant just like throughout the whole game. I can't fault them on their design.
I do have one cause for concern though. When I sent my Sims on holiday the gameplay became very slow. The graphics, due to this, weren't looking as great as usual and it was a lot of effort and frustration trying to make your Sims do things and interact. Whether this is because of my computer specifically, which is most likely, it still put me off from using the expansion pack often.
***Conclusion*** It's a good addition to the game. I haven't come across an expansion pack that isn't. This pack though will give your Sims a more realistic lifestyle by adding the option of going on holiday. It is quite fun and exciting to play on it and although I haven't found much use for the new decorations or clothes, I think that the added hairstyles and jewellery collection are the best additions from an expansion pack yet.
Be careful though, if you are a bit of a Sim addict and keep collecting the expansions, make sure you have lots of space on your computer. If you don't you may soon find that your in the same position as me and going on holiday is alot more harder and slower than you would prefer.
Overall this is probably my second favourite, but very closely first expansion. I'm currently re-sorting my computer to free up space and I am looking forward to playing it again with much excitement. I would recommend it highly, but remember, free up space!!!!
Advantages: A chance to get away form the daily grind Disadvantages: You're still stuck at your computer whilst your sims enjoy themselves
...an original expansion pack; being the sixth expansion pack, Bon Voyage is the updated version of the original expansion pack "on Vacation". It features many features of the original game, including the three destinations themes and, of course, the ability to buy souvenirs to bring home.

As usual, Vacation features new interactions, new items and new gameplay features, this time to make your sims' holiday as relaxing ... ...mixing when it comes to the destinations). Complete with tropical beaches and even a pirate ship, it's a great place for holidays with children, as the possibilities for play are enormous. In Twikki Island you can learn the hula dance or the fire dance, hang loose with the locals, search for sea shells or artefacts in the pirate captain's cabin, build a sandcastle, sunbathe or swim in the sea.

...when I got this game, the thought of adding to my expansion collection intensified the anticipation but it wasn't what I expected.
You get the nicest girls hairstyle added with this expansion pack and now you can even decorate your sims with jewellery. As usual clothes, hair, decoration and new building modes have all been added. But they're not much to get excited about.

Advantages: Its great fun to play and makes your sims happier. Disadvantages: Long loading times and takes up 1.5GB of hard drive Space
The Sims 2 Bon Voyage is another great expansion pack in the Sims series. The expansion pack allows you to take your sims on holiday to enjoy the local sites and cuisine.
Once you have saved up the money and got a break from work, you be able to go on holiday to one of three pre built destinations or one that you have built yourself. The earlier you book, the cheaper it is.
But the costs dont stop there, to really enjoy the holiday your sims will ... ...seeing trips as well as the little extras. Such as massages, clothes and souvenirs.
