My boyfriend got me the Sims 2 for my Nintendo DS for Christmas and from the moment i started playing it i was addicted! I spent most of Christmas day playing it and was constantly on adventures in Strangetown. It is a game mainly run using the touchscreen but you can still use the game button controls on occassion. Starting out: When you first start the game you pick out what your Sim looks like from hair colour, to skin tone to clothes-including swimwear, nightwear and occassionwear! You also pick out an aspiration for your sim, be it fortune (earn additional simoleans from hotel guests) ... more

Advantages Advantages An addictive, fun game

    Disadvantages Disadvantages None worth mentioning!

A great game- but be warned! this may take over several weeks of your life! Setting up your sim is your first task- you can choose their clothes, hairstyle, hair color and face features, its possible to name your sim too. You start off the game when your car brakes down- you end up abandoned in a small town aptly named, 'Strangetown' There's a guy that offers to mend your car and tells you to go in the local hotel while he does so. Once in the hotel, you find the receptionist falling to sleep- the hotel owner has gone awol and disappeared- theres a note for you from the owner- and you quickly ... more

Advantages Advantages Some fun tasks, keeps you occupied

Disadvantages Disadvantages Poor graphics, poor sounds, too structured, limited

I love The Sims, The Sims 2 and can't wait for The Sims 3 (which comes out on 5th June), however this game really does belong on the PC. It's just not the same on any other console as I found out whilst playing The Sims 2 on my DS. The Sims 2 on the DS is very limited, even the fun part of creating characters is lost with about four hairstyles and very little clothing, OK so this isn't the most important feature of the game but still, it's not the same. This game starts with a little video, in which we see a car breakdown in the middle of nowhere, this is the character you've created. There's ... more

Advantages Advantages Easy control, missions add a new feature to the game format

Disadvantages Disadvantages Playing in real time can get a pain, perhaps overly easy

If you're a fan of the other Sims games, especially those on the PC, you may be in for a surprise if you pick up a copy of The Sims 2 on Nintendo DS. It's a whole different game. The game centres around a hotel in Strangetown, in the middle of the desert. Your car breaks down in the area and you are left looking after the hotel. In order to do this you must keep it clean, build and furnish new rooms, earn money and keep your guests happy, as well as completing several missions. However, if you're expecting to be in full control of the building and creative side as in the PC game, think again ... more

3 Stars Sims for DS 03/10/2012

    Advantages Advantages average game

Disadvantages Disadvantages lots of time waiting and doing nothing, poor in comparison with other sims games

I got this game in a used game store with two others on a 3 for £10 offer. It is for nintendo DS and is a small cartridge in a plastic box with an booklet inside. To play the game you just insert the cartridge into your DS and tap the game icon, it does not need any installation. The game is for ages 7 and over. I think this is about right as anyone under 7 would probably struggle to read and understand the objectives. When starting the game you can load or create your sim character, you give your sim a name, choose the sex, hair colour, hair style, facial appearance, clothing and choose from ... more
