As a 16 year old I am very experienced with all the Sims games from the original 'Sims' and it's 'making magic' etc to the new addition of the Sims 3.

First Appearance:
On advertisements it is VERY appealing, showing us the new and improved version the Sims3 has a complete new feel to it. With more human-like characters and a more varied and random behaviour traits. The sims3 has been packed with many different aspects to make the game last forever and ever without feeling you have 'completed' it to a maximum.

Town/Build/Buy Mode.
The first thing i noticed about the town was that you cannot move your lots into a complete random space. This is a big disadvantage for me as i like to re-arrange alot. Yet there is an alternate asset which is more satisfying; For example: there are many special places in the town, such as mines and almost 'crater like' lots which are unusual places to live or build on, yet people like me would love to be unusual, and place a house there!. i recently decided i wanted to build my house right on the beach.

Building houses has been improved after the Sims2 made it difficult to place items in a room without it looking..'boxish' and 'plain' ..so they made it so that we could put our furniture at an angle. FINALLY we could have quirky diagonal beds and Sofas and Chairs in the places we really wanted!. More Freedom!

The DESIGN TOOL is the greatest for me. Think up to date leopard print sofas and matching curtains? How cool is that. The tool is very easy to use and once you have found a nice material/print...you can then change its colour to one more appealing. You can also save the material you have created, for example i love a light beech effect wood throughout my house, so therefore i saved it and now use it on everything wood!
Also you can change something which is metal, into something wooden, or even fabricated. There is so much to choose from!
This is what makes the new game so different. And making all of our houses so unique!

Grass Tool/Flowers Etc
There are many grasses to choose from, some filthy looking and some more lush. You can choose paints which represent stone paths, and choose the level of intensity if you want a 'washed out' looking garden or whatever.
In my opinion there isn't a large variety of flowers, instead they have invented grassy kind of flowering? hard to understand i suppose unless you've seen it. But i use them instead of plants & they are very colourful and can also like furniture be placed at an angle.
Lots of Trees like always all with different sizes (S/M/L) ..Cherry trees etc.

Pond/Pool
The pond tool has always been a favourite of mine. Something i do miss is having ducks swimming in it. Originally from the Sims1. :( However you can fish!!..In A Small Pond which you have built you wont get many different types of fish. however in commercial ponds, or even in the sea you can get everything from Lobster To Clownfish!..and can also use them to cook with 'YumYum'!

The pools are still the same. No Diving board, which i miss dearly, but a warning sign and a pool pattern for the bottom of the pool has been added.

Sims
The best part of the Sims3 is the unique ability to not know what's guna happen next!... I have a Sim who constantly stands outside his house playing the guitar for tips! Characters are so varied you probably wouldnt find a sim in your town who acts the same as yours does.
Traits
These are what makes them individual...With 5 to choose from you can make your sim a bookworm, kleptomaniac (Steals things from others), Computer whizz, Angler.
There are many mental traits aswell as physical such as 'family oriented'
Sometimes it does'nt hurt to have a mischievous sim!.. Its quite amusing to be honest!.

The speed of which a Sim grows can be altered, i like to alter it depending on if i think i have fullfilled my sims life. For example sometimes i dont get my toddlers trained on time, therefore i simply make his lifespan a tiny bit longer to help me along the way.
If however, you don't have him/her pottytrained on time then there are consequences! such as not being able to choose a trait. So one is simply picked at random, sometimes a good one, sometimes bad.

Changing the hair colour and facial features of a sim is great as 2 never look the same! Hair colour is very varied and you can choose your own colour from the pallete, and even choose which sections of hair you want to be coloured.

when creating a sim you can choose his/her's voice pitch/tone, i don't like having the sound on therefore i dont use this tool however you can make a woman sound like a man!...or vice versa!.

Events
I miss having wolves and turning into a werewolf. On the sims2 if your house was surrounded by enough woodland you would have wolves visit and would interact with them. Not on the sims3. However it's nothing to be missed as there are many other special events which occur.

Misterious Mr Gnome.
What a cool idea i thought. After having read about him on a Sims3 Forum i was like...What's this? ..So The idea is..you go into the catacombs, Or maybe even fishing, and eventually you will come across a Gnome which you have found!. Place him in your garden, and even give him a name!...and the magic is..that when your not looking he runs around your house! doing whatever pleases him. However when you hover over him he simply stops. So you never see him in action! aww :(
I had 2 Gnomes and they both partied together! So cute!

Seeds/Gardening
Gardening was my Sims no1 activity. I achieved the lifetime goal of having 10 'Perfect plants' in my garden. The special plants are the 'Life plant' Which when you eat the fruit you live longer,
The 'death bush' ...havent tried eating the fruit but you could imagine what could happen'
A 'Money tree' and many many more.
You can find them at random and having a 'Green Fingered' Sim also helps!

Gems/Rocks.
Another favourite of mine. I tend to collect all gems and rocks. and when you have enough points to achieve a collection helper then you can be an expert at finding these!..aswell as finding fish, Seeds and insects!
There are many rocks such as plutonium and rubidium etc, also gold and silver can be found along with ruby's and emeralds..and diamonds!
many others are available aswell. They can also be cut to make them more valuable.

Insects.
Butterflies, Cochroaches And Beetles. Rare Butterflies or common ones. There are many out there to be found! and to be collected! and placed in your house in little cages!

There are many goals to achieve in the Sims3, and even extended goals, for when you have completed the original ones!
for example i had a very athletic sim, who would train without me telling him to!...so he got to level10 of athletic, and then sometimes you think, Now what? so..in the athletic journal there was goals such as 'do 500 miles of running' 'work out for 6 hours straight' things like that. Which means you can push your sim to the limit with these goals!!

Lifetime points are great for achieving rewards!. Many special rewards can be achieved such as a body sculptor, for incase you accumilate a chubby sim. or even the collection helper, which is suuper great. or even small things to boost you sims personality such as 'never be dull' or 'slacker'. The downside is that it takes a while to get lots of these points, however if you really try then its great.

also opportunities are good for your sims however sometimes they annoy me so much!..regular pop-ups for the towns eating contest, or pop-ups for the local bbq, sometimes there are interesting ones such as: 'bring the remains of a loved one to the science centre for tests'
very interesting, so i did so and my dead sim came back to life 'in a fashion' although she was still grey and 'see-through' i could controll her! and she also had many lifetime points...which i then spent on some cool items such as the collection helper.

dead people can be quite annoying as they sleep in your beds and rattle your ovens and scare your sims, but they're interesting, and i do enjoy having their company once in a while.

If you do decide you dont like them, then send them to the graveyard along with many other of the deceast. They'll probably enjoy it. honest.
