the action and feels a lot less sterile than the
original. Things are still as customisable as ever
too, especially via the Create-a-Sim

I still love The Sims

Advantages: Fun, easy to play
Disadvantages: Addictive

I've been playing The Sims since shortly after it was released in 2000. When I was made homeless 2 years ago I lost my copy and I've only just got round to replacing it. I didn't realise how much I missed this game and so I decided to write a review about a game that I enjoy so much.

My game reviews tend to get a mixed re-action; I am going to write this one trying to take in to account all the, (quite often contradictory), criticism ...
...if this review delves into the realm of the game-guide. Some of you like to be told how to play the game and some of you don't. I suppose you can't please everyone!

~~~~~ What is The Sims & how did it come about? ~~~~~
I suppose the best way to describe The Sims would be that it's a real-life simulator, well as close to a real-life simulator as technology allowed in 2000. The Sims was created by Will Wright who also ... more
Not sure whose life I'm leading anymore
Advantages: fun, reality escape, lots of control
Disadvantages: addictive,
I’ve never been the first to try a new game, always hopping on the bandwagon way after everyone else. Saying that however I’ve owned the Sims and played it for a long time, and only this weekend did I decide to reinstall it on my pc after a long long time. Already I’m finding it’s taking over my thoughts. Instead of thinking what I need to buy at the supermarket this afternoon, I’m wondering how I can get my Sim to be in a better mood to get the ...
...came out in the year 2000, and the whole series is still hugely popular today, with lots of add ons to be found. None of these extra games can be played however without first installing the original Sims game. When you first install the game and start playing, you are faced with a neighbourhood. Here is where you can choose which house or plot of land you are going to house your Sims in. There is a handy tutorial feature attached here so if you ...
How to make your own life go away
Advantages: very entertaining, completely absorbing, good graphics
Disadvantages: gets boring after a while, could take over your life
...they all live together in the same house. She’s unemployed, and depends on them all for income. Luckily for her she’s got some creative ability: she’s an excellent cook, and she can knock up five or six wooden painted garden gnomes in about half an hour. The more time I spend trying to help her improve her skills, the more my own suffer. The more I try to get her to interact with neighbours and friends, the less time I spend talking ...
Disadvantages: May get a little 'samey' after a while
SIMply a great game
Advantages: High educational value
Disadvantages: can be addictive
...*Introduction* The sims game for those who have not yet encountered it,is a simulation game where you simulate everyday life(continue reading for a more detailed discription). The reason I have decided to write this op on the sims,is not just as it is fun and has playable gaming factor,but also to look at it in a very different light.Whilst it is unmistakeably a game,it has amazing educational value,something very often overlooked by many parents ...
The Ultimate People Simulator!!
Advantages: great fun, loads of expansion packs available
Disadvantages: addictive
The Sims is a platform style game from the people who brought us Sim City and so on. Maxi Electronic Arts or EA are renowned for their simulation games, whether they do people cities or sports. The SIms can be picked up for less than a tenner nowadays although there are new expansion packs being brought out every year. I know of seven to date, but there is probably more: Livin It Up Hot Date House Party Bustin Out On Holiday Superstar Makin ...
...you go!! There is the ususal epilepsy warning on this game. You are advised not to play for longer than 10 - 15 minutes at a time and to move around inbetween times. Although I play the game on my PC, it is available in other game formats for the Nintendo Gamecube, XBox and PLaystation 2. These are slightly differing in game play but I think the concept is pretty similar. The game consists of simulated people and their lives. When you begin a ...
The story mode is as I?ve explained earlier with Riley and Vince?s story. With the free play mode, it?s basically what you play on Sims 2. This game is extremely easy for those who have played Sims 2, as it uses the same format and functions. For those who haven?t played it, you control the Sim?s everyday action. Your Sims must get involve in mundane tasks (like humans), in order to survive longer. So they will be doing chores such as cleaning the toilet, watching telly, painting and cooking. Should you buy the Sims 3 for PC?
Advantages: Mac/PC capability, No loading inbetween lots, Enhanced character building, Improved graphics
Disadvantages: Price? Cheeky new online store
The Price At amazon, the Sims 3 for PC is priced at £30. Many have commented that this is too expensive, whilst it is expensive, in my opinion, it is totally worth it. However, don't expect a totally new game. You will need to understand that it is still the Sims 2 , its just been enhanced. If you are expecting a totally new game, you will most likely be disappointed. The Abolished Loading Times This was a great idea. I the Sims 2, gamers were forced to wait for up to 4 minutes whilst visiting other lots, etc... Now, once you have loaded the household, there is no more loading required. This speeds up the gaming process and makes the game easier to play. Enhanced character building I think this is what has improved the game so much for me. Each Sim can now be built with unique interest and whereas in previous games, your ...
The Sims 3, PC
Advantages: A virtual life if you don't have one of your own ;o)
Disadvantages: Can spend hours on this game wasting my real life
Take control of your very own sim. They can take on the appearance of anyone. Someone you like, or even someone you don't like. You can choose the appearance and personality of your Sim. It's very easy to set up a Sim initially. There are various personality and character traits and you can choose a large combination of different ones. But if you prefer you can just use a ready made Sim. You can set life goals for your Sim. Such as becoming a Spy, or maybe a Master Criminal, or just to have kids. Your decisions in the game will help you or hinder you on your path to this goal. Throughout the game you will get pop-up tips to help you with the controls etc. These are initially helpful but can get a little annoying after a while and there is no easy way that I know of turning them off. It's a shame that you can't have pets in ...
