Now if you remember I recently wrote a review on the original Sims game for the PC. Well I have had that on my laptop for a couple of weeks and have now decided to put an expansion pack onto my laptop too. My sister Sam has the majority of the expansion packs and the one that caught my eye was the Sims unleashed. Installing the game:
Now this game is an expansion pack and to install it onto your computer you do need the original the Sims game to already be installed on your PC. The Sims unleashed needs about 64mb ram of memory to run properly, make sure you have more than this though left on your computer because a problem with the Sims games is that if you do not have sufficient memory the game will run slowly. Now to install it you simply need to put disc one into your PC, a window will automatically pop up and just follow the instructions. After this you will need to put in the original Sims disc and then after that you will need to put in disc 2 of the unleashed game. The whole process only takes about ten minutes so not too long to wait. After all of this has finished you will automatically be able to play the Sims unleashed.

What do you do?
Well as the game suggests this is an expansion pack. When you have installed it onto the PC you will still have all of the options you had with the original Sims game but you will see that there are even more things that you can see, buy and do. When you look into the buying options you will see a paw print symbol which represents the pet options you have. What you can get are things for all sort of pets including tanks for iguanas, beds for dogs, scratching posts for cats and fish tanks for fish. You can also buy bows for the pet food so that you know you can actually feed your pets. To be honest I was surprised that they have not put more options for the pets but what is there is sufficient.
Now to buy a pet you have to actually call a cab and go to the community lots. Now to do this you buy a phone for your house and cal a cab. You do have to pay a small fee which is about 40 but then you will find yourself in the community lots. Here you will see lots of shops and pets running around. What you do here is browse around and choose your pet. You will see the different types of pets running around in the shops. When you have chosen a pet you will be given a choice and you can choose the colour and type of dog for example you can have a Terrier or a Dalmatian. You also get to name your pet. When you have bought your pet you can then browse for treats which I like doing. You then need to find a public phone and you can cal for a cab which will take you straight back to your Sims house.
When your pet is there you can click on his picture and look at their statistics. Remember you do have to look after your pet so make sure you feed it, buy somewhere for it to sleep and make sure you socialise a lot with it. If we take a dog for example because that is what I bought first, you can train them to do tricks and they also need to be housetrained. It is quite sweet though as my Sim and his pet love each other so much that the first thing the Sim does when he gets home from work is to play with his dog and give him a love.
The other thing about the Sims unleashed is that you can make friends with other peoples animals. You will see a lot come into your house and around your gardens which you can make friends with and your pet can play with.
Other things you have in this game are a brand new range of jobs and a few extra clothes choices. The neighbourhood is bigger so that means you can create more Sim families and houses so there is far more game play.

Verdict:
Now I am a big fan of Sim expansion packs and this one certainly is every bit as fantastic as I thought it would be. The first thing I did was get my Sim a job so he could support his pet and then I called a cab and bought myself a dog.
When I had my dog he was so cute but actually was very naughty in the way that he would drink out of the toilet and then wee everywhere around the house. To stop him doing this I had to make sure I scolded him when he did something wrong and praise him when he did something good. It took me longer than expected to hose train him which is quite good as I thought with a game they would make it easy but it is actually hard. When you click on your pet you will have the option to train them, praise them, pet them, play with them or give them a treat. I love training the dogs because it is funny and they learn pretty quickly. A little bit of advice is to hire a maid for the first bit of having a pet because they are messy to start with.
I also like in this game that you can make friends with other peoples pets which is good especially if you want somebody else to move in with you as it is important you are good with peoples pets. Also you have the option to chat to other people about the pets so it is a good social subject.
The next pet I tried to have was a cat with another one of my Sim creations. Now I am a good Sim pet owner and bought my cat loads of things and it is great to look after as they are slightly easier to look after than the dog. They are a sweet cat and it is fun to pet them as they are great as friends and they actually help increase your social gage.
The most boring pet to have really is the fish as they do not really do much and the most you can do is watch them and feed them. Remember with many of the pets though you will have to remember to give them baths and clean them up. Your Sim pet can be your best friend or your worst enemy depending on how you look after it so you have to make sure your Sim is ready for a pet. You need to have a job and make sure you have enough money saved up so that you can buy your pet what it needs and continue to spend money on feeding it.
This expansion pack is great fun if you like the Sims but I would not choose this one if you do not particularly want it for the pet option. If you are like my friend and just collecting it because it is in the Sims set then I wouldn't bother because although there are extra options such as careers and clothes, the game is all about the pets.
One fun thing about this game that I found out about is that if your house is left messy then you will get a problem with skunks. Personally I found this hilarious as you just suddenly see a skunk running about your Sims house. They do become a problem though and although I tried to clean up and get rid of them I ended up having to call animal control to help out.
Well what can I say apart from that with every Sims game comes an even better way of enjoying the sims. I love the original sims game but this expansion pack is fantastic and taking control of a pet as well as your sim family is actually quite hard. You have more options on things to buy as well as the option of travelling out of the neighbourhood so I would recommend this game to everybody.
If you like the Sims then you will love the expansion packs.
Advantages: new features Disadvantages: old bugs not solved
...anyone would not know what the The Sims was; and it now has pets! Adopt them, feed, them, scoop their poop up, and become your best friend.
Despite the bug problems that many has encountered, if you are still a big fan of the The Sims despite of this, this is definitely a worthwhile expansion for you.
The Sims: Unleashed is pretty much focussed on the adoption and caring of pets rather than the controlling of the Sim itself. Plus other major features ... ...visit.
Household Pets: the spotlight of The Sims: Unleashed, where your Sims can adopt pets at the new pet store which is located publicly. It allows you to adopt cats, dogs, parrots, turtles or lizards, upon adopting them you can feed them, teach tricks to them, and enter them into pet shows to win prizes, the prize is based on how well you have trained your pet. However, you can't implement the way how your pet acts, and don't have as much control ...

If you have been locked away in some deep dark cupboard for the last however many years or you’re just not a huge games fan then this section is for you.
The Sims is a game made by Maxis which is Electronic Arts brand. It is a game where you can basically create people and run their lives. Fantastic for control freaks like me. You get to choose what they ... ...make friends.
I believe the game gives you $20,000 to start with and this is to build the house (or buy a house that is ready made) however I use the cheat and get millions so I’m not sure of the exact amount.
You have to make sure your Sims are well fed, happy, have enough space and have enough things to do otherwise they get very grumpy.
There are five add on packs including this one and they are: Livin’ Large, House Party, Hot Date, Vacation ...

...of you that don't know, the Sims is a roleplaying/God game. You have to build houses, decorate them, create families and then live their lives for them. You make all the decisions, you are in total control.
I am a huge fan and have written an opinion on every expansion pack, so you just knew that at some point I would have to write about the new expansion, The Sims Unleashed. In total there are five expansion packs, and the original game, The Sims. ... ...*The Sims Unleashed.
From the titles you will have guessed what each expansion has to offer. Living it up, offers you more interactions between sims and more player objects. House Party, allows you to have all night parties and annoy the neighbours. HotDate means your sims can go on dates, chat people up, have fun and get down to it, on the hotel rug, infront of an open fire. On Holiday, ment that you could then take your sims on holiday, where ...

The Sims: Unleashed is the fifth addition to the best-selling PC game, The Sims. Things have gone a long way since the original game, we've had parties, dates, and holidays, and Maxis have gone all out for the game's fifth expansion pack. Even the intro video has changed, showing pictures from all of the games so far. Before we get into the game as a whole, here's the specs.

Advantages: Brings more depth to the original game Disadvantages: addictive, annoying pets
My sister bought me The Sims Deluxe PC game for my birthday. Much to my families bemusement I was hooked from day one.
I now have most of the expansion packs up to the Unleashed one, which is the Sims product I am going to review.
A quick rundown for those of you who possibly haven’t heard of the Sims:
Basically with my Sims Deluxe this consisted of The Sims and The Sims: Livin’ It Up. This is a PC based game and one of the extension packs. You ... ...to bed, even go to the loo. You build their houses, plant their gardens, choose their career path and basically decide their day to day lives.
However Sims also have a mind of their own which can be annoying when they get a strop on and decide not to play ball with you. They are very vocal in voicing the fact that thinking about it, no they are not in the mood for nooky, making babies or having a major snogathon. Actually they hate the person they ...

Manufacturer's product description
The Sims Unleashed, the fifth add-on pack for the biggest selling PC game of all time, allows computing's most popular virtual families to add a range of animals to their households. The developers say this is the biggest expansion pack to date, and certainly there's quite a bit here for your money. There's a good variety of pets to choose from, and whilst felines and canines are likely to be the more popular options, there's little to stop you adding something more exotic like a lizard to your Sims world. Pets are a fun addition, whether you let them roam or take an active interest in their development. While pets are the headline attraction, there's actually quite a bit more to discover in this expansion. There are extra locations and there's a new gardening element added, which is passable enough. There's the usual extra bevy of careers and objects brought into play too. There's nothing in The Sims Unleashed to impress non-converts, but it's essential for the completist and offers better all-round value than most Sims add-on packs so far. And you can't help but love those kittens. --Simon Brew In The Sims Unleashed, players can now add furry friends to their Sims' families. An all new expanded neighbourhood featuring parks, pet stores, cafes and markets will give the Sims and their new pets a variety of places to sniff, explore and meet their new neighbours. For the first time ever, the Sims can visit a pet store and bring home a variety of creatures and accoutrements. Players will make a big splash with the addition of a lumbering Labrador or fickle feline to their Sim family. They can also buy a parrot, turtle, lizard or fish that are fun for the whole family but don't need to be house-trained.The Sims Unleashed gives players dozens of new social interactions and expands their neighbourhood. Thirty all-new residential and community lots featuring new homes, lush parks, a hip new cafe, cool shops and a farmer's market are available for Sims to explore. Now the Sims can walk their pooch in the park or bring their cat to a café and build their relationships with their neighbours through their adorable animals.Your Sims can teach Fido where to go themselves or hire an efficient Pet Trainer to do all of the dirty work. Sims can also enter their kitties and canines in the local Pet show. The competition is "dog eat dog," as Sim pets try to impress the Pet Judges for prizes in obedience, tricks and good pet mood. Also new to The Sims Unleashed is gardening. Your Sims can now grow a variety of vegetables in their own backyard plots using seeds purchased at the local garden store. Proper care of the garden will yield a crop that can be picked and stored in the new kitchen pantry or sold at the local farmer's market. Your new pets will also come in handy as they help chase away the pesky rabbits, gophers, and mice. Don't be surprised if they aren't the only unwelcome animals that come a callin'.The Sims Unleashed expansion pack adds five new career paths with 50 new and exciting jobs. Sims can enter the exciting world of fashion, become a culinary genius, take care of the neighbourhood's pets as a trustworthy veterinarian, teach others as a noble educator, or simply run away and join the circus. Over 125 new objects for pets and people, dozens of new character skins and an all-new decorator set with a New Orleans French Quarter theme round out this new Sim offering.
