Advantages: Stunning Vocals / Music with Very Emotional and Heartfelt Lyrics Disadvantages: Probably a bit too short
Sometime last Year, I remember reading that the new " singing sensation " from Wales was going to be on the Jools Holland Later show, her name was Duffy, and was someone I had never heard of before at the time, so I duly taped the show and was quite impressed by what I saw and heard, and being Welsh myself, I like to keep in touch with the local music scene.
Fast forward a couple of months, and Duffy was once again on the Jools Holland Later show, as a replacement for Alicia Keys, and this time she was absolutely brilliant, with 3 haunting songs played live, those being, Mercy, Rockferry and Stepping Stone, and in between these shows I was very fortunate to have seen her live in Concert, and she was brilliant there too. Then all of a sudden " Mercy " was at number one in the Charts, and everyone wanted to know about Duffy, what a turn ...

Ciao members have rated this review on average: very helpful Review of Rockferry - Duffy
Advantages: great Disadvantages: all songs sound the same
I have never been a huge Duffy fan, but after looking at so much media hype on her debut album I downloaded it to my i-pod and I was not disappointed, with the great hit of "Warwick Avenue" by the welsh singer. The album also the hit song "Mercy" but I cannot say that I liked this song and could not understand the media hype surrounding it.
The tracks that I prefer on the album are Stand out track from the album are Syrup and Honey which is a ballard which showcases her voice perfectly with that 60's vibe.
Other songs on the album include Stepping Stone, I'm Scared, Serious and Rockferry being the name of the album with many more to chose from too.
If you are looking for an album to chill out this it's the album for you, I did not listen to it one song after the other I played it on my ipod on shuffle and I thought all ...

I first heard her song "mercy" and really enjoyed, it was so catchy and you can have a good old sing-a-long with it. you can get hooked straight away!! There is only 10 tracks to the album would of liked a few more...but hey ho i will look forward to her next album!!
The songs on the album are the following :
1. Rockferry
2. Warwick Avenue
3. Serious
4. Stepping Stone
5. Syrup And Honey
6. Hanging On Too Long
7. Mercy
8. Delayed Devotion
9. I'm Scared
10. Distant Dreamer
I really enjoy warwick avenue (track 2) which was really good, i got one song of the internet "piece of my heart" by Duffy and it is such a shame that that song is not on there as it truely is a really good song and her voice ...

Manufacturer's product description
This profoundly influential book re-examines events leading up to the Reformation in England and illuminates our understanding of the period. A prize-winning account, it recreates lay people's experience of the religion of the pre-Reformation church showing that late-medieval Catholicism was neither decadent nor decayed, but was a strong and vigorous tradition, and that the Reformation represented a violent rupture from a popular and theologically respectable religious system. For this edition, Duffy has written a substantial new introduction, including a discussion of the Lollards and reflecting on recent developments in Reformation studies. 'A mighty and momentous book ...which reorders one's thinking about much of England's religious past.' Jack Scarisbrick, The Tablet 'Duffy wants to show the vitality and appeal of late medieval Catholicism and to prove that it exerted a diverse and vigorous hold over the imagination and loyalty of the people up to the very moment of the Reformation. He succeeds triumphantly.'Susan Bridgen, London Review of Books 'A magnificent scholarly achievement, a compelling read, and not a page too long.'Patricia Morrison, Financial Times 'A landmark book in the history of the Reformation.' Ann Eljenholm Nichols, Sixteenth Century Journal 'This book will afford enjoyment and enlightenment to layman and specialist alike. Duffy sweeps the reader along ...by his lively and absorbing detail, his piercing insights, patient analysis, and his vigour in debates.' Peter Heath, Times Literary Supplement 'Sensitively written and beautifully produced, this book represents a major contribution to the Reformation debate.' Norman Tanner, The Times 'Deeply imaginative, movingly written, and splendidly illustrated.' Maurice Keen, The New York Review of Books
