THe best one yet is what the Jonathan Ross TV show calls it and I have to agree, Shrek the Third was definitely my favourite film of all three, hilarious from start to end and a great film for all the family. Don't get me wrong, I like the other two as well. Shrek is just a great cartoon that I think works really well because both kids and adults can find the jokes funny and appreciate the humour. They seem to have the same formula as the Simpsons, which appeals to all ages as well very cleverly. I think Shrek has also been such a success because it uses the fairytale angle with a lot of its characters and this is something that everyone still wants to believe in, fairytales and make believe, good over evil and happily ever after. Calvin and Hobbes... the Sunday Strips

Advantages: It's Calvin and Hobbes
Disadvantages: Just Sunday Strips

a comic strip shows how much the story of Calvin and his tiger Hobbes touched the lives of those who read it. A lot of the stories are set in the woodland around Calvin's home, probably being set around the mid-west USA like where Watterson lives. We see Calvin and Hobbes having fun, friendship, disagreements and quite deep conversations for such a young boy. Bill Watterson is well known for his integrity towards Calvin and Hobbes, which is why the only (official) Calvin and Hobbes merchandise available are the collection books. So for those of you unfamiliar with Sunday Strips, these are basically larger than your daily strips, taking a lot of page up (or all of it as it used to be), they are also in colour which quite a number of daily strips usually are not. The Telegraph - A Good Read

Advantages: Good writing. Wide coverage of important topics.
Disadvantages: Strongly held views.

There was a time when no self-respecting "liberal" would be seen dead reading the Daily Telegraph which was widely regarded as the newspaper for right wingers who still believed Britain should have kept its Empire. Such a stereotype is no longer valid,assuming it ever was. The Telegraph today is a superbly produced daily with an attractive layout,high standards of journalism and is a really good read. OK many of its writers have strongly held views which you may vehemently diasgree with but they are not wishy-washy. Its coverage of domestic affairs,including the likes of sport,science,technology,education and politics,is very good and its editorial space given over to international affairs is , I feel, just about adequate.
