Advantages good comic subplot

Disadvantages shakespearian language can be difficult

I think this is one of Shakespeares finest. A good example of why he became the success that he is. The play has a good plot, and a comic sub plot, although the "being shipwrecked" idea has now been overdone, it is still a fine example. The tragicomedy is brilliant to read, fantastic to watch and is so interesting to interpret. It can be read in many different ways, and the perceptions of characters are so different. I would definately recommend this to people who arent so fond of Shakespeare, as I wasn't a fan my self until I read this. The use and abuse of power within is phenominal and it contains essences of the nature verses nurture debate from years ago. Overall a great short play and I highly recommended it.

If you think the shipwrecked thing has been done to death, don't even bother with Romeo and Juliet! Talk about milking the "star-crossed lovers" cliche. Wow. He's an OK writer and everything, but couldn't he have come up with something more original?
