TM is one of thoses Crichton books that takes bold new technologies, and makes with it a monster, or monsters, out of ordainary people. Circhton can make any technology seem evil. In TM, Harry Benson suffers from violent seizures, and so agrees to a mew procedure to implant electrodes in his brain, linked to a computer in his shoulder. The electrdoes stimulate teh parts of his brain to calm him down, but he soon disocover that he can use them to ineuce anger, pain and pleasure. He then goes on a killing spree in LA. Oh dear...

The book is good, but takes a while to get into and a while to get going. It is also one of those books that is good, even though you can't really say why. It is just good, but not everyone will like it.
The technology will put some off, and the killing spree as well!!
It is a typical Crichton, with all the techno- scare mongering, but is not one of his best. Still a damn good book tho!
