The first time i went to the Thekla i had gone out for a quiet pint with a friend and somehow been put on a coach to Bristol with him and his girlfriend .When i got there i wasn't expecting much but i was pleasantly surprised...

The Thekla is a boat , a big boat but a boat all the same , it has two levels one under the water line where the dancefloor and the dj are and one well above the waterline for people to chill out in and it is easy , from up the top you can look out across the water to the other side of the docks and surprisingly for Bristol it is a good view.

The Thekla is a nice club and although it doesn't attract as many big name dj's as nearby 'Creation' you do get a few decent dj's there , for example when i last went there i saw Hybrid play . Plus its a boat!!

Its easy to find as it is the only boat on the docks in Bristol pumping out loud music , and easy to get too as it is only a short walk from the centre . Overall i would say that The Thekla is one of the best clubs in Bristol and definitely the most original .
