This is my favourite book of all time and I encourage everyone to read it (even if it is considered a childrens book) or listen to it if you can

This audio cd is hilarious as the two warring Twits play tricks on each other which get more and more risky as you go.

Advantages: Fantastic bringing to life of a good story Disadvantages: None
...part of a bundle from the Book People, so I don't know its individual price. It would be well worth the normal full price, unlike another story in the bundle - the Andrew Sachs reading of James and the Giant Peach. I just couldn't stand the disgusting voice he used for Aunt Sponge!
Sometimes when books are turned into audio books or films, your enjoyment of the story is spoiled because the voices aren't how you had imagined them to be and this gets ... ...through his acting ability. The wide range of voices he uses and the way the voices reflect the characters made it very enjoyable indeed. Also, he did it properly - even though it is supposedly for children he didn't do a half-baked job.
The story itself contains some common Dahl elements: a child, some nasty adults and lots of imagination. There are also animals who can talk (of course). The adults are particularly nasty, taking delight in inflicting ...

Reviews which might be of interest for "The Twits - Roald Dahl"
Advantages: Excellent to expand the childs imagination Disadvantages: you feel like giving the house a clean over and over again once you've read it!
Three words Dirty, Evil, bizzare.
This has to be one of the best memories of reading I have as a child. The basis of the story is husband and wife who have a lot of animals, hate children, argue, get complaints from the neighbours and are well how should I say it.......not very hygienic, such as a collection of food such as spagetti in Mr. Twits beard!!
It might sound a bit bizzare but is a funny story and children love it.
This book has many memories for my brother and I, as my Father read this to us as children. Today I now read the same book to my children and to the local children's hospital.
This must be read with voices in the characture you are portraying.
It is a perfect book to bring out a childs imagination and also to allow them to tell the difference between right and wrong.
This story has been around since I was ...
Advantages: A wonderful childrens book! Disadvantages: Don't encourage kids to take seriously what's in this book.
Hello Ciaoers! I am continuing in my quest to do reviews on some of my favourite childrens books, and surprise surprise, it's a book by RoaldDahl. This one is called:
THE TWITS
On to the story!
Mr and Mrs Twit were a throughly nasty pair of people. They were old, nasty, cruel and unforgiving, but most of all...they were twits! They were born twits and have been the same all their lives. Their house has no windows as it's all bricked up except for the doors and the garden is full of weeds and nettles to keep out little girls and boys. Mr and Mrs Twit don't wash or groom and are two of the ugliest people you'll ever see or read about. Mr and Mrs Twit are always playing tricks on each other. At least half of the book is devoted to the way they play practical jokes on each other and then how they retaliate! (and they say ...
Advantages: A great and truly funny kid's story. Disadvantages: Absoluteltly none, you'll love it.
hands on their chins, completely absorbed and enthralled with the tale. And if your child is aged 6/7 or upwards, you could not do better than RoaldDahl. As a starter I would recommend his book the Twits, it has everything in it that is guaranteed to make little people laugh themselves silly.
The book has an extremely simple and straightforward premise; it is called the Twits and is about twits. Kids appreciate that sort of what you see is what you get honesty in a product. Mr and Mrs Twit are not only a couple of twits, they are a really disgusting, really nasty, really sick-making couple in their sixties. And as such, they are really an interesting and almost irresistible subject of the average 7 year olds curiosity. Young children's awareness of the elderly is normally confined to grandparents who are inevitably nice and adorably ...
