    Advantages Advantages well researched, beautiful photography, real-life examples

    A few years back, “making of” books about different TV series seemed to be a popular tie-in product, and I also remember (shortly after that) script books were the next big idea, but The World of Downton Abbey isn’t either of these. It’s not that easy to describe what it is, but an “attempt to describe the Edwardian era” is reasonably close. I wouldn’t say it’s a “making of” book because it doesn’t go into what the production team were looking for when auditioning actors, whether one actor tried out one part and ended up with another or why they chose to film at Highclere Castle, but it does ... more
