The Young Victoria - Alison Plowden

'I delight in this work', wrote the young Victoria shortly after she became Queen. She was an engaging creature, high-spirited and eager to be 'amused'. But her early years were... more...difficult ones.

Long To Reign Over Us.

Advantages: An extremely enjoyable costume drama.
Disadvantages: None

On the 24th May 1918 at Kensington Palace, London, a daughter was born to Edward, Duke of Kent and Princess Victoria of Saxe-Coburg. The child was named Victoria and she ascended to the throne at the tender age of eighteen. Queen Victoria was a bright and vivacious young woman, she enjoyed history, geography and one of her hobbies was painting. Victoria not only spoke German ( her first language) but she went on to learn to speak English and French and later conquered Hindustani so that she was able fully undertake her duties as ruler of India. ALISON AKA ALF

Advantages: Reminders of the 80s, raw talent, distinctive voice
Disadvantages: None

reminds me of Yazoo days for some reason and I can?t quite put my finger on why. It?s fast and catchy. The key suits the deep, distinctive, unique tone of Alison?s voice and allows us to hear the depth, tone and range of her voice. The lyrics are about being forced out of a relationship, when you don?t want that relationship to be over. 8/10. SLEEP LIKE BREATHING ?Every word?s so .. Every word?s so fragile Inside passion that feels like chasing rain. This soft soulful ballad is my favourite track on the album. As a young woman Alison Moyet?s voice belied maturity beyond her years. Deep, soulful, yearning and packed full of emotion, this tune is an almost hypnotic experience. Dramatic repetitive soft keyboards and instrumental support the song and allow the listener to fully appreciate the uniqueness of the singer. The lyrics ...

Victoria Centre Nottingham

Advantages: -
Disadvantages: -

Nottingham has two large shopping centres, the Broadmarsh Centre and the Victoria Centre, situated at opposite ends of the city centre .The Victoria Centre is the bigger of the two, containing 120 shops (not counting all the various stalls in the market area.) Getting there is easy - if you drive, there's parking for over 2700 cars . If you don't drive, don't worry - almost all the Nottingham City Transport buses stop either directly outside the Victoria Centre, or within a few minutes walk of it . Other bus companies from slightly further afield, such as Trent Barton , terminate at the local coach station within the centre . If you're walking, the centre is signposted from various points in the city centre, and at the end of the day when you're weighed down with shopping, there are 2 taxi ranks directly outside the main entrance ...
