How about a Cockatiel ?

AdvantagesCheap, easy to look after, personality

Disadvantagescan be messy and noisy

"...will whistle at you, taps the food dish when he wants food, runs up and down cage squawking if you don't feed him, copies head movements and we have got him to whistle a tune. He has a strange tendancy to eat sunflower seeds and throw the shell out of his cage but thats the messy bit about him. You don't need a bird bath for these unless they are really dirty as their feathers are covered with a fine dust for ease of cleaning. These birds can be ..." Read review
