Apple makes an entry into the world of mobile phones with the release of the iPhone, a cutting-edge piece of technology aimed at revolutionising the cellphone industry. I recently bagged an iPhone and a fair share of delights and disappointments along with it.
The Good:
-Amazing, state-of-the-art touch pad system that facilitates much accuracy, innovative commands (eg, zoom by pinching and stretching) and multi-touch recognition by simply using one's fingers
-2MP Camera: although only 2megapixels, the camera is of very high quality
-WiFi, Edge, Bluetooth, SSH support
-Built-in, high quality Internet Browser (Safari), Youtube Application and Email Application
-Google Map Application, capable of "emulating" a GPS-like system
-iPOD integrated into phone, iTunes support, Standard Audio Format support
-POTENTIAL: The integrated OS ...

Advantages: great look, easy to use interface, many useful aplications... and so much more Disadvantages: Bluetooth technology is limited, internet access is slow
way to access the internet. However, the phone which is currnetly only on O2 at the moment shows that apple really have what it takes to dominate the mobile phone market.
I urge you all to gt an iphone, they are so easy to use, they look great, and a team of well educated staff are always there in apple shops to help you if you have any problems.
another minor detail about this phone which puts me off, is that you cannot transfer data between phones via bluetooth, obviously this is to prevent pirate songs being sent across apples interface, but it would be nice to be able to send photos to a friend via bluetooth instead of using the internet.
the camera is two mgapixel which is fine for a phone and can comfortably take good quality photos with it.
Also, the voicemail function is a brilliant idea that apple have enhanced their moble ...

iPhone. The greatest device since GSM was first created? Yes and No. I've had the iPhone for just over 4 months and I have mixed feelings over the device. I used ZiPhone to unlock mine from AT&T in the US for use in Ireland.
Out of the box the iPhone is intruative (It has to be as a Manual is not included in the box). The box included a small quick start guide, a headset and the various connectors. Set up with iTune is a breeze even for a newbie.
The Home Screen on the iPhone differs from most WIndows based Smart devices as a simple press closes the running program down. I own a HTC Touch aswell and found it much easier to upgrade and customise than the iPhone. While the iPhone has a huge and diverse 3rd party App community you may have to wait a long time until an App you need comes about. However, once they are released you can ...

Manufacturer's product description
The iPhone Developer's Cookbook introduces Apple's iPhone SDK to readers and provides step-by-step details on how to build programs that run on the iPhone and iPod touch. Each "Recipe" focuses on the use of a class and provides completely re-usable code that readers can copy and implement in their own applications. More importantly, The iPhone Developer's Cookbook discusses many methods and variations, so the reader learns how to create classes in different forms: for example, using a Navigation Bar with two buttons, with one button, or none; using a back button shape; and with optional label text. In addition to these recipes, The iPhone Developer's Cookbook helps walk the reader through setting up the compilation toolchain on their personal Macintosh, discusses the differences between Cocoa and iPhone, and goes through the tools needed to perform basic reverse-engineering on iPhone frameworks so readers can expand their scope into the full iPhone framework collection. It also discusses a number of ways to install the finished product into the iPhone Applications folder, both directly and by using third-party installer and update apps including Installer.app and the Breezy/PXL project.Note: This title will be released as soon as Apple lifts the NDA on the iPhone SDK.
