In November last year I had to endure a prolonged stay in hospital and in an effort to cheer up my scowling grumpy smacked arse of a face my beloved decided to buy me a present. In a truly inspired moment he opted to buy me a bottle of Thierry Mugler’s Angel. Now I have a deep-seated love of chocolate and I am also fond of trying out new perfumes; so my hubby thought he had hit the jackpot when the sales girl convinced him that this was THE perfume to have, as it smelled of chocolate. I think he realised he had got the booby prize, however, when his credit card all but snapped under the cost of the stuff.
Anyway by the next visit he had regained enough composure to offer me the beautifully gift wrapped perfume with aplomb and waived away my questions of “How much did this set you back?” with a flash of his pearlies (although now I think of it his teeth were somewhat gritted), a wave of his hand and a “you’re worth it my precious”
On opening the perfume I was enchanted by the exquisite star shaped bottle made from chunky glass and topped with a silver stopper.
I squirted a generous amount to the pulse spot on my wrist and immediately the base notes of vanilla and chocolate were distinctly noticeable and they mixed together wonderfully into a warm buttery, sweet, comforting smell. The base note of patchouli came through slightly later and added a rich earthy yet slightly fruity note. After about three minutes of wear the top notes of Bergamot and citrus came through and blended together well to give a faint orangey citrus aroma. All in all I found the smell to be warm and sensuous yet sweet and comforting.
Now whilst I had been enjoying the experience of my new sultry perfume hubby had sauntered off in search of a coffee and newspaper, once back he settled into the hard plastic of the hospital chair, put his cup on my bedside cabinet and proceeded to turn to the sports pages in the paper (why oh why do men always do that?). Not for long though, “Uuuuuuuurgh” he wrinkled his nose, “what’s that bloody horrible smell?” Now I have always known that he didn’t have the makings of Sherlock Holmes but surely it was elementary even to him!
“What smell, dear?” I asked in an innocent voice.
“That…that…urgh its like a sickly sour milk smell.”
“Is it your coffee?”
He all but dipped his nose into his cup and inhaled deeply, “No….that smells ok……..gawd, whatever it is it’s really getting up my nose.”
And so it went on.
It wasn’t until visiting time was over that he bent to kiss me goodbye and he realised that the smell he found so objectionable was coming from me and was directly from the very expensive present he had bought me.
Angel was created in 1992 by Thierry Mugler and is supplied in an asymmetrical star shaped refillable bottle – due to the design the bottle has to lie flat. As the beautiful bottle is refillable it works out be an economical way to keep stocked up on this perfume. The refill is supplied in an upright bottle with a star shaped lid; this bottle could actually be used in the normal way although it isn’t supplied with a spray – but if pennies are a consideration then this is a cheaper alternative.
I think Angel is a perfume that you either love or hate instantly. Personally I loved its sweet, creamy aroma and I thought the smell was indeed heavenly with its carefully blended ingredients. The smell can be quite over powering if used too liberally, I find one spray to the wrist is usually enough and will last all day long.
Hubby on the other hand absolutes hate it. Even if I use only the tiniest of amounts – and with this perfume less really is more – the smell really seems to aggravate his delicate nasal lining.
It’s a good job he isn’t playing in the European championships – it looks like he has scored an own goal!
The perfume is available at most department stores.
It can also be purchased online at www.perfume.com 25ml £34.54/50 ml £43.60

Review of Thierry Mugler Angel Eau de Parfum Spray Refillable
Advantages: Everything, the beautiful bottle, the lasting smell, Disadvantages: Perhaps the price
...credit card in hand!
Thierry Mungler describes Angel as ‘a perfume of emotion, a true perfume composed of our innermost feelings and memories’, a statement Im not sure is true. At least when I smell it the only emotion I am capable of is happiness no matter how gloomy the day or my mood! So how would I describe the smell, well the smell is intense, similar in intensity to Poison. Once its on you its on for the day, I’ve had many a day where I’ve ... ...7 hours later someone has told me how nice I smell! The smell itself is spicy, rather than soft and flowery. It’s a smell that has a bit of bite to it, although without the musk that many strong perfumes have. Its also still not widely warn, so you wont have the problem of smelling the same as every other woman you pass that day.
The bottle is ornate, am asymmetrical star with blue liquid and a silver nozzle. The box is similarly blue with black ...

Advantages: Lasts for ages, pretty bottle design Disadvantages: Quite expensive compared to other brands
The fragrance "Angel" by Thierry Mugler is one of my many favourite perfumes. I treated myself to this from eBay about six months ago. I bought the 50ml (1.7 fl oz) bottle of perfume which was slightly used (only a smidgen less than a full bottle) but still boxed and in pristine condition for £30. I feel I got a real bargain. This sized bottle can be refilled either at an Angel Fragrance Source in Perfumeries or with an Angel refill bottle.
Designer.

The Bottle Itself.
This elongated star shaped blue bottle is representative of Mugler's star which is finished by a shiny chrome top from where you press to spray this perfume onto yourself. The shape of the bottle is also designed to fit comfortably in your hand. The bottle lays flat on your dressing table which ...

...different and original. French designer Thierry Mugler then launched Angel as an innovation to the conventional floral blends. The marketing team did an outstanding job and managed to turn Angel into the most sold perfume in all of France. Soon after, the trend followed in most of the world and this fragance is currently sold worldwide in both the most expensive luxury stores and supermarkets. Angel seemed to penetrate every level society and became ... ...Putting the incredible history aside, I must say that a lot of this demand for the perfume has to do with the way it was marketed. As I was growing up, several luxury stores would spray Angel on their products and in the air in order to demonstrate their sophistication. Much like the earlier Chanel No. 5, this was a result of selling the bottle like an icon, a must have! The star shape is not a mere coincidence, it surely is meant to make the user ...

Advantages: smells divine, long lasting Disadvantages: expensive:(
This perfume was almost the only thing on my Christmas list this year, it was a sure thing that Santa would deliver it for me, it was all I wanted. I first smelt it about two months ago, on a friend, and I fell in love. I tend to be very fussy about fragrances, and like them in the bottle, but not on my skin. I loved this in its star shaped, elegant bottle, and surprisingly, liked it even more on my skin. It is not too strong, but lasts for a long ... ...application.
The bottle draws you to this fragrance straight away. Mostly, it comes in a glass bottle, with a silver spray top. The fragrance is a blue colour, and the overall opinion is that it is very spectacular. When you buy the fragrance in this bottle, it is quite expensive, but you can buy a re-fill, which comes in an upright bottle, with a star shaped lid. This works out cheaper, and does not have to be used only as a re-fill, it can be ...

...after recently receiving a free Thierry Mugler Angel Conditioner. I hadn't smelt this fragrance in such a long time, and it to me smelt really pleasant. A smell which I really could associate with. I was surprised at the cost of this fragrance. I paid £48 for a 25ml eau de parfum - of course you can buy the eau de toilette at a cheaper cost.
The packaging is extremely pretty. A blue star shape bottle which is very handy and definitely eye catching. ... ...relating to the fragrance, and also you can become part of The Angel Circle by completing a returning a card with your details on it.
