I think I have heard more bad comments about this fragrance than any other.
But, in the one week which I have been wearing it, I have had about 5 people stop me and ask me what kind of fragrance I am wearing.
Angel isn't by all means a new fragrance. I was first introduced in 1993. Over 10 years old. Wow! If people are still wearing it, and talking about it, I definitely think that it has made an impression.
I remember the first time ever smelling this fragrance. A friend of a friend was wearing it. My first impressions of it, were very strong, and a very unique but girly smelling fragrance. Extremely sweet smelling, and although this has a vanilla base, it isn't distinctive. Definitely not a fragrance that anyone and everyone could get away with buying.
I was inspired to purchase this after recently receiving a free Thierry Mugler AngelConditioner. I hadn't smelt this fragrance in such a long time, and it to me smelt really pleasant. A smell which I really could associate with.
I was surprised at the cost of this fragrance. I paid £48 for a 25ml eau de parfum - of course you can buy the eau de toilette at a cheaper cost.
The packaging is extremely pretty. A blue star shape bottle which is very handy and definitely eye catching. It is easy to grip and hold, despite that shape of the bottle.
I have the re-fillable bottle, which works out cheaper in the long run as you can have it re-filled at various stores. I am yet to try this to find out how easy it actually is to find a store who will do this, and at what cost. I will of course up-date when I get to this point.
Back to the scent itself.
The actual main essences to this fragrance are, honey, chocolate and caramel. Blended with a subtle hint of Vanilla.
I find that when you initially spray the perfume, it is very strong and not at its best. However, as the perfume rests on your skin, the smell becomes slightly more subtle and changes, becoming more warming and generally nicer.
They say Angel is recommended for Romantic use. This, I am not so sure. For instance I would not on gods earth wear this on my wedding day. It find it far too strong. I think a perfume for romantic use should be more subtle, and not so much in your face.
As said earlier, I have the eau deparfum, and although slightly more expensive than purchasing an eau de toilette version, this is good value for money. I find that one spray alone is more than enough, and the scent lasts for hours upon hours. Of course, fading with time, but this is not a bad thing.
Users of this fragrance must be careful. It is easy, very easy, to assume the scent has worn off, because of course your nose becomes accustomed to the smell. Take it easy. Don't go re-spraying every hour. Otherwise (a) you'll waste your perfume, and (b) you might knock out people in your company with the overpowering layers you have applied.
I definitely think this fragrance is age restricting. I feel it is quite a young smell. Put this on your Grandma and it would definitely be out of character.
Don't judge this perfume by your initial reaction if smelling a tester in a department store. Give it time to develop and I am sure you will be more comfortable with the smell.
This fragrance definitely is loud. So don't be expecting something any different.
Thanks for reading, Karen x
NB. With your fragrance - you should find a small blue envelope. No bigger than credit card size. Open it up, and you will find some lovely words relating to the fragrance, and also you can become part of The Angel Circle by completing a returning a card with your details on it. This basically will enable you to have direct contact with the Thierry Mugler team, give you up-to-date information on old and new products, plus more.

I think this is the marmite of the perfume world - you either love it you hate it. Personally I'm the latter, just can't stand the smell of it. Good review though x

I have read so many mixed reviews on this fragrance I'm desperate to smell it but Debenhams haven't had a tester in since before Christmas so I guess I'll just have to keep on wondering for now!
