IBM is know for its ability to produce laptops catered to the profession industry, here is a break down of my analysis of this computer:

Main advantage: This laptop is comparable in size with the latest small laptops. I use it on the train on long journeys or on the metro since its no heavier than a book. It would usually last around 3 hours, disabling antivirus increases the speed a lot.

Processor and Speed:
It processor is a dated Pentium 3, however, i would say its fast enough to run windows xp and common office programs. Please now that the new top of the line computers with P4 processors have less battery life and most of the time, i lower the speed of my processor to save battery. However, the new line of pentiums such as the centrino saves power and integrates wireless lan, a very important feature in my opinion, so event hough this processor is more suitable for office use than the P4, choose this pc only if its cheaper than the new line of centrinos for your office use. For gaming, this computer is outdated and only good for playing games that are from years ago. Personally, i find this machine fast enough for using at home as a back up computer. I would usually take it out on long journeys where i can listen to music and type up an essay etc with this laptop, and the processing speed is fine. Since its not my primary computer, i can format this computer often. Before i bought my new laptop, this computer was quite slow because it got infected with spyware and it was overloaded with spyware. In the modernday world, if you want to keep MP3s etc, i would recommend you buy a removable hard drive to back up your hardisk and keep at leasts 1 GB free space for windows

Memory:
This is just enough to run windows, usually, 128 is the lowest and most of the graphic settings would be set on low. i would recommend adding more ram to speed this comp up. For me, usually, i fill up the ram (you can see by pressing ctrl alt delete) . I woudl usually keep 1 program running with interent explorer and MSN in the background, and it operates fine. When i wanna change programs, i use RAMBOOSTER, software to free up ram so the pc functions fine.

Graphics:
I would consider the graphics card only suitable to play outdated games and to display proper graphics. I used to play Red Alert 2 on this comp

Price:
Its variable but watch out for the ebay price, i would only buy it if the pc is under 500 pounds in my opinion

Network:
LAN card for normal office use, no integrated wireless

Summary:
Buy this computer only if you have a good deal and you would only use it for office use or for just typing upt the usual essay on the road.
