...a few ThinkPads brought into the office for a number of uses. We have the in-house skill to do more with them than just hand them out to Partners with a long flight and some notes to finish.
A collection of various hardware toys where ordered with the ThinkPads and amongst this lot we picked up a PortReplicator. ThinkPads, like most other laptops these days, do not come with a floppy drive. I use this example to highlight a basic use of a PortReplicator. It was surprised to discover that the ThinkPad struggled to cope with the hardware. It was the typical story; it did not have the right drivers for it. I have been searching through the IBM site (and some others) looking for a download and, oddly, I’ve not managed to find anything yet.
One of the problems connected to getting the latest little toy is that the support for it might...

Manufacturer's product description
Now, you really can have the best of both worlds: a single computer that can meet all your needs in the office and away without sacrificing function or flexibility in either environment. Together, your ThinkPad and this expansion solution set the standard for portable computing power and flexibility. The ThinkPad port replicator allows the use of external devices such as a monitor, optional keyboard and printer without connecting/disconnecting each device individually every time you move your notebook.
Advantages: It is fast, nippy and good looking Disadvantages: It is a computer

Advantages: speed, size, weight, features & support Disadvantages: cost
...documents. I have had no problems with booting up the laptop and I feel the T20 actually gets up to speed very quickly after log-in. The laptop rarely crashes and if it does it is usually as I have had too many applications open. The other good thing I have found is that the laptop has no problems surfing the Internet at any time via network access or Dial-in.
I bought the laptop around a year ago and it cost me £2400 as I bought a bigger HDD, PortReplicator, More RAM and also a spare battery. I think this has been the best laptop I have used compared to other named brands I have used.
I hope this helps any further questions please let me know.........
