~What's it made of?~ The frame is metal, so it is strong and capable of withstanding those inevitable knocks and bumps it's going to get. The foot base is extra wide, and both feet can fit on it. This is made of moulded plastic, and is red in colour.
The wheels are moulded blue plastic, and have grips on the black (non-inflatable) tyres. The scooter has 2 wheels at the back, so it is extra sturdy for little beginners.
As I have said, the handlebars are adjustable, and extend to approx 65cm in height off the floor. The handlebar grips are bright red, chunky enough for those little hands to hold on to, and are non slip.
There is a removable face plate, which sits on the handle bars, and can be attached with plastic grips which come in the box with it. The picture on the plate is Thomas' face, and it is moulded out of plastic, and is slightly raised so it looks like a 3D image.
~Cost~ It will set you back £25. You can buy it from Argos or Toys R Us.
~Assembly~ It comes flat packed, so you have to assemble it yourself. It does not take long to put together, about 10 minutes. The instructions are very easy to follow, and all the tools you need are provided in the box.
~My Experience~ It took my son a fair few goes to get the hand of it. Initially, he didn't want to put his feet up onto the base, so he kind of ended up running alongside it, which made for a few bumps! He has not mastered the art of it, and absolutely loves it. The scooter is very sturdy for him to ride on, it is easy for him to steer and control, and it has proved to be strong as it has come out of many bumps with only a few scratches on the face plate.
I would definately recommend this to the parents of any little boy who is a Thomas the Tank Engine fan!
