remote, but a dedicated generic replacement which performs all the same functions as your original including tuning absolutely no setup codes required.
Advantages: Quick / Looks smart / Great Functionality Disadvantages: Poor Quality TV / Even poorer recording quality
...My partner bought this box from a high street retailer, as we are unable to have Sky+ in our area (Listed building)
The functionality is excellent, with a great menu, and huge hard drive.
Our current TV has freeview built in, and i was surprised to see the Thomson box was worse. The picture was pixelated (not crisp).
When watching a recording back, the picture was dull, and not as clear as normal TV.
The box has froze twice already, and then wouldn't find any channels and had to be re-set up.
We visited another high street retailer yesterday, to compare the Thomson to other brands. Immiediatly i could see the quality difference. Today, i plan to return the Thomson for a full refund, and hope to purchase another brand.
I highly recommend testing / viewing the actual box in use before buying. My TV is a 50" HD Plasma. Using this box...

Advantages: can use anywhere at anytime Disadvantages: lots of competition with other brands
...I have not used one of these before.from the look of it it looks compact and hopefuly easy to use.I work nights and would be interested in trying the Thomson PDP 2860.as I am always running out of things to keep me awake.
I see it has headphones ,which would help as I will not keep the people awake i look after .I could take films in or music to keep me entertained.I would hope the picture quality is good .as we do not get a very good signal on normal tv in the area.these and easy to operate instructions.idiot guide helpful.these are what i would consider before purchase.
specific criteria below is what i would look for as i have not used the product .
this is first product i viewed and have got it wrong so you keep telling me.thankyou for all your comments.but i am new to this and i will learn.any one know how to get this review off...
