An Illuminating Adventure
Review of Angels and Demons - Dan Brown by
dan_pentagram
Advantages: Strong Subject, Easy to get lost within, Adventure seems real
Disadvantages: Historical errors, Similar structure to Da Vinci Code
...Da Vinci Code well before Angels and Demons even though the former is the sequel released three years later. Does this mean that Dan Brown's first Robert Langdon novel is ay good? Published first in 2000 by Pocket Books, Angels and Demons has actually been branded an international Bestseller and despite selling more copies after the release of its sequel, critical reviews have generally been positive. Is it a 'breathless, real-time adventure with ... ...Well the story within Angels and Demons is one we are all familiar with, a race against time. Stranger In The Mirror.
Review of A Stranger In The Mirror - Sidney Sheldon by
Ragdoll26
Advantages: Read review!
Disadvantages: Read review!
The saying "Never judge a book by its cover" is completely true with this book. This is one of a pile of books my husband bought for me after rooting through for Jackie Collins books, the charity shop for me. I took one look at the cover and judged it as not a book I wanted to read. Then I got bored, I was almost crawling the walls looking for a book to read. I picked this up in desperation, and vowed never to judge a book by its cover ever again.
... ...the life of Josephine Czinski, a pretty young girl whose birth in to this world was hard on her and her mother and caused her father to have a heart attack and die. Matter or Honour - One of my favourites
Review of A Matter of Honour - Jeffrey Archer by
jilly141060
Advantages: fast moving thriller that rivals frederick forsyth's position as storyteller
Disadvantages: the book isn't long enough!!!!
I can't tell you too much about the story line that hasn't already been said without spoiling your 'read', but suffice to say that the scene on the hillside when the russian spy (Romanov) gets onto the bus (that has the Royal Philharmonic Society on board)looking for Adam (our hero!) is brilliant. Robin the female double bass player doing her bit for women's lib excels. This book has been one of my personal favourites for about 20 years and if you ...
