After reading all of the Darren shan vampire saga i was expecting another thrilling read. This i was granted, however Lord Loss is similar to the first of the vampire series. It starts a magnificent line of stories, (the demonata) which i would recommend to anyone. ...a long book, nor is it hard to read. you can finish in a good few hours. Not a vast amount actually occurs in this book, but enough to keep you hooked and looking forwards to the next installments. It does however introduce characters with huge amounts of depth and history.
