"Dragon Tears" by Dean Koontz
Review of Dragon Tears - Dean Koontz by zenmachado

Advantages: Great Theme and Characters
Disadvantages: Pacing and Ending are Slow and Bland

...dead end. Dragon Tears is a story of five people: all attempting to find some way of surviving the deadly harassment of a being with powers who is seeking to make them dead by dawn. It all begins as delightful Tuesday in the life of cops Harry Lyon and Connie Gulliver that starts out beautiful but turns deadly in a confrontation with a lunatic at lunch. A maniac who will only communicate by reciting Elvis Presley song titles. (Which was written perfectly) ...
...a huge thuggish homeless man with mysterious powers begins stalking Harry and Connie, warning them that they'll be dead by dawn. The thug has also appeared to Sammy Shamroe - a man who at one time was intelligent and had a promising future but wound up on the streets because of addictions and also harassing Janet Marco, who with her young son Danny and pet dog Woofer have fled to the streets because of tribulation time with an abusive spouse. Demonata - Lord Loss - Darren shan
Review of Demonata: Lord Loss - Darren Shan by salmonf1

Advantages: the beginning of a fantastic series
Disadvantages: very short,

After reading all of the Darren shan vampire saga i was expecting another thrilling read. This i was granted, however Lord Loss is similar to the first of the vampire series. It starts a magnificent line of stories, (the demonata) which i would recommend to anyone. The series is full of magic and a great plot, the first person way of writing really makes it exciting, the sort of read that you'll want to finish in the first sitting, in the case of ...
...a long book, nor is it hard to read. you can finish in a good few hours. Not a vast amount actually occurs in this book, but enough to keep you hooked and looking forwards to the next installments. It does however introduce characters with huge amounts of depth and history. The great thing about it is that it is completely different to the vampire stories but still has that Darren shan edge that all his fans adore. My overall verdict is that the ... Read review

Skipping Christmas
Review of Skipping Christmas - John Grisham by CPTDANIELS

Advantages: Witty and enjoyable
Disadvantages: Quite short and not expanded enough

...simply told them they were skipping Christmas this year. Meanwhile in their small middle class street preparations for the festive season where in full swing. A highly organised and proud neighbourhood where putting all their lights, frosties and decorations out for the world to see. As the road seeks to win the award for the best festive decorations in the area. Only one house has none and one house has let the neighbourhood down. My thoughts ...
...this author that I have reviewed. And as such I really wasn't sure what to expect this time round. I liked the concept of a couple trying to do something different in missing Christmas and that was why I bought it. Initially I struggled to get into the book and I thought I would rather hear about their daughter's trip to Peru than a 'stuffy couple' attempt to avoid Christmas. But in truth it grew on me and despite my prejudices against the author ... Read review
