See that a Female US President just might happen!
Advantages: An excellent end to the trilogy Disadvantages: None
When Archer first wrote this book in 1977, the President was a man. When he then went on to write the sequel to Kane and Abel (The Prodigal Daughter) and made the main character of that become President at the end, it seem natural for him to re-write "Shall we Tell the President" to become the natural end to the trilogy. This turned out to be a great decision as after I had read the first two books, I needed there to be a third as my apetite was ... ...Florentyna Kane is an involved read from start to finish - I could not put it down, and have never been able to on the many reading occasions since!!
Revolving around a plot to assassinate the President it details the FBI's mad dashes around Washington to ensure that the deed is not done, and that the President never finds out that she is a target.
It is very well written and a female president is totally believable - but this maybe because I read ...

Skeleton Crew... I wish you were shorter
Advantages: A few stories are very good Disadvantages: Most of the stories were bad or boring or both
SKELETON CREW by STEPHEN KING - MY REVIEW
I want to start this review by letting my readers know that I'm not a huge Stephen King fan but I quite like to read his stories here and there. I believe it's quite a relevant thing to say considering the amount of die-hard fans who love him to death and would say that anything he writes is a masterpiece and worth high praises. I usually take "best sellers" very cautiously.
I admit he's one of the few ... ...as other two "good collections". Skeleton Crew I believe falls into the category of "classic", since the fame it usually has within the die-hard fans of King.
At this point I can tell you that I hardly enjoyed this book at all. Perhaps it's because I read it in a very bad period when I was a little depressed but it is definitely poorer than the other two short story collections that I have read of the same author.
The book starts quoting KC and ...

it's the most wonderful time of the year! for some
Advantages: Very readable and enjoyable Disadvantages: May have you calculating the costs of your own Christmas
Skipping Christmas is John Grisham's 2001 offering. His previous works include The Juror, The Pelican Brief, The Client and The Firm. Grisham usually writes novels set in and around law courts and legal issues, with key characters who are lawyers and defendants, Skipping Christmas is pleasantly different to this norm. I know that the book is listed in the 'thriller' section on Ciao, but this isn't the right place for it. My copy of Skipping Christmas ... ...Christmas. The story of Skipping Christmas is a simple one. The blurb begins 'Luther unfolded a spreadsheet and began pointing. 'Here, my dear, is what we spent last Christmas.''. I am a huge lover of Christmas, and found the negative attitude of look how much we spent and look how little we have to show a little off-putting, but I read on through the blurb and discovered that the solution to this, in Luther's mind, is to take a cruise, and so miss ...

A Greek mystery? Hardly
Advantages: Easy to read Disadvantages: No tension and hardly anything to think about
Santorini was one of the last pieces of work ever written by Alistair MacLean, but I would have to say from the outset that if this is the first of his novels that you are about to read then look to San Andreas or Caravan to Vaccares for your first experience. This is far from being his greatest piece of work, and whilst in itself is not a bad read, it does not make you want to go and look for any more of his books.
Santorini is named after the ... ...has been placed on a linear storyline rather than making the reader think things through.
This was one of the last MacLean books I purchased, and did so to complete my collection, and I would therefore only recommend Santorini if you have already read all of his other works. ...

Not his best
Advantages: Gripping and readable Disadvantages: Disappointing climax, preditcable storyline
You sometimes get the impression from books by Mr Archer that he is writing about people that remind him of himself - or at least how he would like to imagine himself. The main characters tend to be intelligent, good looking and men of money. This book is no different. It follows the story of two brothers separated at birth, one brought up by a rich family and one that is brought up by a poorer family. It follows their lives and it is undoubtedly ... ...standard fair, but you can't but reading on, as you want to find out how the inevitable coming together pans out. This is not one of Jeffery Archer's best stories. The plot is fairly predictable, and the story to me appeared more of a self publicising exercise. The climax is very disappointing and not really worth waiting for. If you haven't read an Archer book before then don't let this be you first. He is a tremendous story teller, with storylines ...
