I'm sat at my computer rating the latest reviews, thinking what shall I review for my next op. I take a sip of my drink - Tia Maria and Coke - and then Eureka!!!! I've got it! Who else to review Tia Maria than it's number one fan!!! Kathy Bates has got nothing on me! My apologies in advance if...

“A Drink With Aunty Mary”

published 06/11/2012

ProGreat in hot coffee on a chilly night!

ConsToo sweet on it's own.

How many of us have a bottle of Tia Maria at the back of a cupboard. I am currently having a good clean out so I have brought Auntie Mary, which is how it translates directly from the Spanish, out for a bit of an airing. My first memory of this sweet coffee liqueur is tasting it in a chocolate...

This beverage is heavenly! Lets begin by describing what it actually is because upon hearing me order this at a bar pretty much all of my friends have questioned what it is I'm actually drinking. Tia Maria is a dark liqeur that has tastes of coffee and vanilla. It originated from Jamaica, the...

The origins of this opinion date back to New years eve 2002. It was a night where I couldn't possibly lose! I was kitted out in my best duds. I smelt great, I felt great and I looked great! I was going to club H20 in Herts. I was getting a lift with someone who didn't drink alcohol! Which meant...

What is Tia Maria Tia Maria is a liqueur spirit with the distinct taste of coffee. It is produced by Pernod Ricard and is made in Jamaica using Jamaican Blue Mountain Coffee beans. The main ingredients are coffee beans, cane spirit, vanilla and sugar. Pouring the drink. I have my tumbler at the...

This has got to be my favourite drink in the world. And to use an American expression that I think rather fitting....Period. It's fantastic, I could rave on about it using all sorts of adjectives. but that's not going to get me a high rating, nor particularly inform you guys. :P As described on...

“BRING ME A SLAVE MAN”

published 04/12/2002

ProEasy to drink, not too sweet

ConsNot strong enough!

Well the women in the advert just have to tinkle their glass and they come running, sadly I've been trying it for years and no slave man yet. Seems I'll never be able to open that darned pickle jar. Tia Maria. Strange name, strange drink, blummin lovely though. Tia Maria is made and marketed by...

I have an unhealthy addiction to coffee. It can probably be traced back to my younger days - if I was out clubbing till 2am, talking with friends for a further few hours and then arriving home on my own doorstep around the same time as the milkman I had no chance of lasting a day at work unless I...

“Tia Jilldo”

published 21/08/2002

ProThat Caribbean atmosphere.

ConsStinking hangovers!

There's a lovely story attached to the origins of Tia Maria, all about Jamaica during the Colonial Wars, fleeing noblewomen, black pearl earrings and a secret family recipe. You can read it on their website (http://www.tiamaria.co.uk) if, like me, you like to know the folklore and stories behind...

ProIt's alcoholic. It tastes lovely. It's alcoholic.

ConsPrice.

I’m beginning to think I have the alcoholic appreciation of a ten year old. Let me explain further. Occasionally I will drink beer or lager. But, I’ve never really grown to like the taste that much. On rare occasions, I will actually want to drink beer or lager in the same way, that on rare...

Consalcoholic so watch how much you drink.

The taste of Tia Maria should never be forgotten, like marmite you either love it or hate it. I most definitely fall into the former category! This gloriously opulent drink has a romantic and dark beginning as the colour of the drink itself. Its history can be traced back some 300 years, to the...

Consquite expensive, and gets you drunk quite quickly!

But I'm not quite as alcoholic! When someone says the words "Tia Maria" to you, what do you immediately think? For some of you, maybe, it's "mmm...alcohol!" For some, the taste of coffee springs to mind, whether you like it or dislike it. For me, the name "Tia Maria" simply says "Heaven in a...

Tia Maria has to be one of the most intriguing drinks that I have ever tasted. The combination of coffee, vanilla, sugar and spirits has been perfected to create a unique liqueur that is smooth and rich in flavour. A bit of history is necessary in order to give you the true essence of the drink...

I have never really been a really big drinker and I don't really like lager, beer or cider so my choice of drinks is either alcopops or straight onto the spirits, one of my very favourite drinks is Tia Maria.
