Who would have thought that a little orange or green coloured hard fruity flavour drop of a sweet was to become the object of my affections !
Certainly not me !I have always liked Tic Tacs but could quite easily take them or leave them.
The mint ones I found refreshing but almost burnt my nostrels with their intence minty flavour.
I have still to try any of the newer flavour such as cinamon or cherry.
Tic Tacs are produced by Fererro UK Ltd, which I was unaware of up until recently. I thought that Fererro just produced those luxurious beautifully wrapped chocolates.
The Orange and Lime mixed packs were introduced in the early 1990's according to Wikipedia and have continued to be a firm favorite following in the shadow of the Original mint flavour. For such tiny drops, the flavour gained is so intense, I am amazed at how Fererro UK can cram so much flavour into such a tiny thing ! Not only is the flavour intense, it is also an intense flavour of what each Tic Tac should be, by this I mean, the orange coloured, orange flavoured Tic Tacs taste of lots of concentrated Oranges confined to a small space, and the lime coloured, lime flavoured Tic Tacs taste of concentrated limes.
Neither flavour tastes in anyway artificial at all to me.Not only have Tic Tacs got the flavour in their favour, but the little clear plastic flip top lidded containers that contain them are an innovation in themselves.
How clever to invent an easy access flip top lid, allowing the quick release of a Tic Tac into the mouth of the recipient at almost anytime whilst doing anything !
Tic Tacs just need a flick of a thumb, head back slightly, a slight rattle of the plastic container just incase a Tic Tac has become wedged on the side and then the beautiful flavour envelopes your mouth.
The innotive flip top lid has been the same since Tic Tacs were born in the late 1960's, why change something that remains so perfect.Did you know that there are 36 Tic Tacs in an 18g box, but they are very often not of equal proportions of orange or lime.
The ingredients of Orange and Lime Tic Tacs are:Sugar, Dextrin, Acid (Tartaric), Rice Starch, Stabiliser (Gum Arabic), Flavourings, Powdered Orange Juice, Antioxidant (Ascorbic Acid), Glazing Agent (Carnauba Wax), Colours (E104, E120, E110, E133).
I know and understand that all of those E numbers are no good to any-one in large ammounts, maybe thats where my addiction lies, which is why I ignore them !Nutritional Value for each delicious drop is:
Energy kCal 2 kCalI shall however try to cut my intake down to an ammount that to any other person would probably still be excessive, but to me will be short rations.
You see when I stated that I am addicted, I really meant I AM ADDICTED, but its not out of control HONEST !Aswell as the large number of E numbers I am consuming, that need cutting down, another reason to cut down my intake is because of the hugh ammount of empty plastic containers I have accumilated, they are everywhere, and if I was more talented I would be able to build a child sized house for my son in the back garden ! I could just throw my empties in the recycling bin, but there has to be a better use for them than rubbish !
Maybe a storage tub for small beads or paperclips, or those small screws like the ones used in the arms of glasses.I have just read through this loosely termed 'review', and have decided that it has almost turned into an 'ode to Tic Tacs', an admission of my Tic Tac guilt.
I am sure that I could write for hours about my favorite subject, but I have run out of the Orange and Lime lovlies so I need to pop up to the shop !I'm not expecting brilliant ratings for this 'review', just a little understanding !!!!!!
Thanks for your time.I have just discovered that these Orange and Lime Tic Tacs are available in large packs that contain 100 Tic Tacs.
OH HAPPY DAYS !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
