Well we had a little glimpse of how gold could work on the wii through the wii golf, which was very basic but worked well. Tiger woods has taken all the positive things from wii golf and added a lot more!!!
The wii remote is perfect for this game and it works a treat. Any slight movement and the ball are going to go well out of bounds. This is a very challenging game but it is also very playable. The graphics are decent but the game play is amazing.
When you first start the game up, you go straight into a tutorial were you learn how to aim your swing and swing the club. That’s the basics and then you learn how to control your shot and also how to spin the ball. This game takes a lot of practice to get good but it is well worth it.
You can design your own golfer where you can play to gain stats and different equipment. The aim of the game is to eventually beat Tiger Woods. This is a very difficult challenge and keeps you very interested in the game.
There are many different game modes which include the traditional modes such as Stoke Play, Match Play, Skins, Bloodsome and Greensome. There are also Fun games which include Target to Target where you have to hit the targets. There is also a new game mode where you have to play a round of golf but you get points for hitting the ball through hoops.
There are many Golfers you can Unlock throughout the game and many courses which include the superb traditional courses such as Pebble beach, sawgrass and St Andrews. There is also the K club where the Ryder club was played last year.
This game is especially good if you like the play with lots of mates. You can play any mode with freinds and try to beat them. You also unlock trophys such as first Hole in one and first Double Eagle.
The golfers on the game include obviously Tiger woods, Vijay singh, Justin Rose and lot's more, Or like i stated above you can build up your own player and eventually give them perfect stats.
with the Tiger woods Golf i was starting to believe the game was starting to get repetitive after the 2004,2005 and 2006 games where they wasn't really many changes. The Wii has saved Tiger woods because it has added a new way to play which is well designed for the wii. This is the perfect game with the perfect gameplay.
Ratings
Graphics: 7/10 The graphics are good considering the game is on a Wii and not a PS3 or Xbox. THe waster,tree and cloud definition is good but the mist is a major letdown.
Sound: 4/10 The sound of the game can get annoying with the commentators repeating thereselve and usually predicting wrong where the shot will land. The music is also very annoying in the game.
Gameplay 10/10 The Wii was made for a game like this and it has really worked. It can get frustating when you do a bad shot but that is just the same as real golf. The problem with other golf games is there too simple but this can really challenges the players.
Mulitplayer 8/10 The mulitplayer aspect of the game is exceptionally good and plays really well when you have had some beers with your mates. It can get very repetitive and its a shame you cant play with more than 4 people.
If you own a Wii and really want to take advantage of the Wii then this game is perfect and well worth the money. You will be playing it non stop and trying to beat Tiger woods!!
Overall i give this game 9/10 with the let down being the Sound because it can get annoying.
