My taking the kids out gave them a bit of breathing room too as the older kiddie was trying to play with them and they didn’t want to explain every step to him.
I was out for ... ...on my return!
My older son asked to have a go so they handed him a controller and told him the basic swing buttons. To their horror my son finished a par 4 in 2 shots! Yay!
My partner bought the 10 version during the next week as he’d really enjoyed playing it. He plays it in the mornings when the kids are still in bed and can’t grab the controllers off him.

A friend has been addicted to the Tiger Woods PGA Tour 09 for a while now and keeps singing its praises. We had a gaming day recently and my other half and he were playing this golf game for hours. I ended up taking the kids out to a play centre just to get away from it. We sat down the other night and had a tournament together and to be honest it was rather enjoyable. Not the best game by far but I still had an enjoyable time playing. Can’t say I’m really “feeling the drama of major tournament golf”.
Gamenet.com: As we were playing there were randomly placed circles and tags reading Gamenet.com which according to my other half is for those people who play online because if you hit the ball and land within that given circled area you gain points towards online play. Don’t quote me on any of this as I’m just going on what I’ve been told but I kinda wish there was an off button.
Animation: The animation of the players is really good. It’s quite amazing to see how much things have changed since the games I played as a child.

Game play: It was straight forward choosing the player I wanted to be from the list. The controls were easy to learn which is always a bonus.
There are a number of games to play including tournament challenge, U.S. Open Championship, precision putting, and dynamic weather conditions to name a few. The weather condition bit is quite interesting to be honest. It’s powered by the weather channel to give the real weather of that given golf course so if it’s sunny and breezy in California that’s exactly what you’ll get!
I was told that there was good commentary for this game but I'm happier having it on silent.

As mentioned before I’m not big on slower games so I don’t choose to play this game when I’m on my own but will play with my son and other half.
Advantages: Good new putting system. Good career gameplay. Disadvantages: Similar to previous games. Graphics feel sightly animated.
...you who have played a tiger woods’ game before, the swing used to be too easy as you didn't have to follow through straight. Now everything is recorded and is made clear on the screen so that you can see where you have gone wrong. The graphics, in my opinion, seem to have gone beyond looking realistic and sometimes making it look too computerized, like it is animated. However, the graphics are still really good and improve enjoyment of the game.
... ...in my opinion they don't add too much to the game but a different way in playing golf itself by challenging yourself. The one thing that I think lacks from these games are different courses as you basically get the same ones each year. Personally I would like to see the course Augusta there as I'm sure there are many who would love to play that course with all the challenges.
Overall I think it is a good game, but there are not that many improvements ...
