little reason to feel disappointed at just havingTiger Woods PGA Tour 2005to pick from. Thats unless you feel let down, of course, by majestic visuals, sublime gameplay and an all-round quality gaming experience.Catering for all levels of experience thanks to five well-pitched difficulty ratings, its an incredibly easy game to get to grips with. Intuitive from the off, you can pick from numerous golfers and courses, each of which are realised exceptionally well. Graphically, the game is outstanding, and given the vast number of gameplay choices available, its going to last you a very long time. The drawback is that things really havent come that far since the 2004 edition. Sure, there are different courses to play on, and welcome they are. Then theres a brand new Tiger-Proof mode that lets you modify those courses to squeeze every ounce of playability and difficulty from them, although its unlikely to be a feature youll use that often. And as for the gameplay? It really hasnt changed that much, with those fresh courses the main attraction.Yet still, you cant go far wrong withTiger Woods PGA Tour 2005. Whilst its disappointing that the game hasnt come on too much in the last year, there is the small factor that it was, and still is, one of the finest sports games on any format. Few games offer quite as much replay value, and that should be ample compensation for the lack of a decent competitor.--Simon Brew

Advantages: The controls are great Disadvantages: Graphics are fairly average
The 'TigerWoods' series has set the benchmark for golfing videogames over the years, and as someone who enjoys a round or two in real life, I'm usually the first to buy the new title upon its annual release.
What I usually look for in a golf game Is an authenticity to the actual experience, and however good the TigerWoods franchise is, it has in the past lacked realism due to some dodgy swing mechanics and less than accurate controls. This year's incarnation, 'TigerWoodsPGATour '10', sorts out these issues via a complete overhaul of the control system with the addition of Nintendo's new 'MotionPlus' add-on.
For those of you who haven't heard of 'MotionPlus', it's a small white box which clips onto the underside of the Wii controller, and increases the precision of the device around eight-fold. When purchased on its own, the Motion ...
Advantages: Great online play Disadvantages: Have to buy extra courses.
Introduction
EA Have been making TigerWoods games since the end of the 1990's. Although I'm not really a golf fan, I have tapped into this series on a couple of occasions previously with the 2004 and 2008 editions. Both these editions were on the PC so I decided to take the plunge and buy TigerWoods 2010 on the Xbox 360. I was reluctant to pay the full asking price of £40, so when I saw it reduced to £30 in Game I decided to buy it.
Real Time Weather
For the first time, TigerWoods 2010 boasts realtime weather. This means that if its raining on your selected course at the time you are playing your round, it will be raining in the game. This is a nice touch and is very appropriate when playing online tournaments as people who have the better conditions will have more of a chance of posting a decent score, sadly ...
Advantages: Realistic Courses Disadvantages: No Augusta National.
With each year comes a new TigerWoodsgame and each year you think just what can they do to improve the game further and each year they manage it! TigerWoods 2008 has the most realistic graphics yet.
The game offers just about every form of golf you can imagine and is great fun if you just want to have a mess around with your friends; however the best part of the game lies in the career mode where you create your own golfer and go about being your skill levels in different parts of the game to a standard where you can compete with the great man himself. The career mode offers the opportunity to compete on the PGAtour with the only disappointment being a lack of Augusta National and the Masters, as well as advancing through PGAtour seasons you can take on the Tiger Challenge which involves mini games of golf against other Pro ...
