It takes a bit of time to get used to this method of playing as you literally take a swing with the wii mote like a real golfer ... ...on a line. You need to adjust your swing as you sometimes only want to hit at 80% of full power etc.. I get really into it, take the correct stance holding the club aloft, the follow through everything but when I went to my brothers house the lazy git was sitting on the settee playing simply by moving his arm!!!! The worst bit was he was scoring way better than me, but at least I'm losing the calories
I first had PGA Tour Golf on my Office PC at least ten years ago. We would all gather around and play at lunch times for competitions and I loved it. The new version I just got for the wii couldn't be much more different. . Once I tried golf on Wii Sports I was dying to get out and buy a real golf game, I just loved the fact you felt like you were really playing.
To start playing you get to design your wii mii, the amount of customization on this game is brilliant. I am now blonde, slim, have full red lips and have boobs Dolly Parton would be proud of. My family laugh when it comes on screen but what the heck I;m happy. Its really funny as the mii reacts to how you score eg when I get a birdie or hit a really long drive she waves to the crowd and blows kisses, when I bogey a hole she stamps around or falls to the ground You can Press A to fast forward once you've started to get bored of it.

There is a training section which covers all the fades and draw stuff and you should work your way through this before starting on the course

The graphics are pretty good, colours are bright the golfers are brill looking and the crowd noise is actually pretty encouraging, the commentators are annoying though especially when they predict you are heading for the bunker and you blooming do.
Playing the game is very realistic you must choose which club to use, adjust for the wind and you can shake the wii mote vigorously to put spin left or right on the ball after landing (warning you look not a little strange doing this) If you go a little left or right when striking the club you can slice off to the left or right. There is also a confidence feature so if you always score well in a particular hole, chances are your shot will behave better as you get better
I have no problem with the driving but find reading the greens with arrows and lines and stuff quite difficult and tend to hit and hope more than anything else.

You can taunt your opponents in multiplayer by putting spin on their ball, blurring the screen, changing the wind direction at the last moment and blowing a horn. If you are the type to do this type of thing then be warned you will be paid back in full.
I love this game even though I don't play golf and don't see it being a boys game rather than a girls game we'll just say it swings both ways.

Bad Points Sometimes when you pull the mote back to take your swing the dang thing takes off thinking you've meant to hit. This is infuriating especially when you are hoping for a birdie this can happen a couple of times a game and I sometimes end up switching off in frustration. Don't know if its just my remote and one does seem worse than the other but I've read other people complaining of this on the internet
There is no ability to save after you have scored well on a hole. I guess this might be a good thing as otherwise I'd constantly save after a birdieeagle and always start from the next hole each time.
Its also available for the other main consoles and the DS

This game is enjoyable because of its ability to use the WiiMote to swing just like a real golf club.
It's a bit better than WiiGolf because the game picks up natural fade and draw whereas WiiGolf only does this if you hit too hard.
The strength of hitting the ball is probably the same as WiiGolf however in this game, you are limited to 110% power on drives, etc.
Even a softly struck shot can achieve ... ...can be a bit tricky but you can choose a lesser club to achieve the desired result. WiiGolf doesn't give you this option (there is a great difference between a wedge and iron in WiiGolf)
It takes a while to adjust to the strength of swings but this is usual for any new activity.
There are about a dozen 18 hole golf courses to play on, which for me are more than sufficient. I like the idea that not all the courses are American but it is a disappointment ...

...cynical - they know that TIGER WOODS 08 contains serious flaws, but they also know that by simply putting the words TIGER WOODS and 08 on the front cover it will sell anyway.
If you like golf then this game, combined with the wii remote, can and should be very addictive. However, you can only get so far in to the game before it becomes so annoying that you'll give up in frustration.

...been a fan of the Tiger Woods series and the latest addition is no let down. I have played these titles on the PC and playsation but the added enjoyment of actually `playing` a shot on the wii brings a new dimension.
The control can be a little difficult to get used to even on the easiest setting, but anyone who has played the Tiger games knows that the more you play the easier it gets.
The key of course is to play and build up your attributes, ... ...to your skills, as you power up yor skills the stroke play becomes easier, soon you`ll be hitting greens in one. Simply put this is the best golf game ever and played on this platform it gives endless fun.
Longlasting too as you always try to better yourself...in short highly recommended, buy it now! ...

...lover and lover of the Tiger Woods series on PS2, I was excited about how they would make this game perfect to utilise the Wii's unique features.
The way the game plays is excellent, you have to put the big swing on off the tee, but you also have to have touch and skill around the greens and when in bunkers. The putting is outstanding as you firslty have to read the putt, then you can use the putting meter to practise your shot, then adjust and ... ...brilliant, you can do the Tiger challenge which everybody who has played a Tiger Woods game before will know is good fun and is a real challenge. Then there is the PGA Tour season where you play a calendar year and compete in tournaments to meet seasonal targets.
This leads onto the FedEx Cup where you play against the World's best players and gain points from tournaments to be crowned the champions at the end of the season.

Tiger Woods 08 is a good simulation of Golf which has many possible professionals to choose from E.g vijay sign , Luke Donald Ian Poulter. Graphics are also good and the advantage of the Wii is that you can swing the remote as if it was a club. However i would recroment that you buy a standard golf club for the Wii s the remote sometimes doesnt react the same way as you do . Many times ive tried to hit a half shot and has become a full blooded swing ... ...mini plastic club. However it is very much like 07 in the fact it has roughly the same graphc quality same golfers same swing etc. For those of you how arnt a serious golf fan i wouldnt fish out the money for it just stick to 07. If you own a PS3 its better to get it on that system as the quality of graphics is far supperior to that of the Wii. Same commentry and sound effects. Can get a little repetitive. TigerwoodsPGAtour08 is not the best in the series by a long way, after playing the Nintendo wii version of tigerwoods 07 this did not impress me much. It always seems to me that EA have a habit of taking 1 step forward and 2 steps back , i would say that only every 1/3 games they release are better than the last . If your new to the tigerwoods games then it's probably worth a look, but if you have tigerwoods 07 then i would stick with that. The game costs around 30 pound from all good games stores. ...
